Upcoming HW Prospects in Action

Post by oogiebe »

With the continued disappointment in the top of the HW ranks, we do have some terrific prospects in action in the coming weeks:

Darmani Rock this Friday against Mike Bissett
Efe Ajagba this Saturday against Michael Wallisch(Airing on Showtime)
Daniel Dubois this Saturday against the infamous Richard Lartey
Ivan Dychko on May 10th against Ray Austin (A must miss fight)
Roney Hines on May 11th against TBA
Arslanbek Makhmudov on against Jonathon Rice (who is rated above Mak on BoxRec as of this post) May 17th
Filip Hrgovic on against Greg Corbin May 25th

And of course CW great Oleksandr Usyk in four weeks against Takam.

So let's look on the Brightside of the division!

I have to agree, but I suspect that The Lion will power Rice out early. He's a freakin' beast.

wallisch may look interesting on paper for efe, but having seen wallish vs hammer i have no doubts hes gonna flop early and easy. i think it will be a disappointing fight

I'm back and forth on Wallisch. If it were me, it's my chance to show something, but it's not me. The Hrgovic fight against Corbin looks like a decision win for Hrgovic, as Corbin is a tough out. Darmani Rock is interesting to see if he sheds some of the thirty/forty pounds of excess fat he's been carrying. Roney Hines is a flier for me. Waiting to see how he develops.

So even here we have an issue with a fighter. Lartay is having visa issues. I hope they work it out, but if not, then who?

both wallisch and corbin will be cashing in after losing their '0'...they should be stopped early (probably without a punch being thrown)

Darmani is young at 23 but carries too much weight and probably isn't any good otherwise he'd have been stepped up a level by now....mike bissett is a poor choice

Dubois is another one who really isn't as good as the hype...and his choice of opp tends to prove this.

mak v rice is the pick of this lot

Darmani is young at 23 but carries too much weight and probably isn't any good otherwise he'd have been stepped up a level by now....mike bissett is a poor choice Def needs to step up; and lose 30 pounds

Dubois is another one who really isn't as good as the hype...and his choice of opp tends to prove this. Still needs to be tested by someone who can fight back, but he's the real deal I suspect

mak v rice is the pick of this lot On paper it looks like the best matchup, yes, Mak is a beast.

You might want to rethink that. Dubois is only 21, and he's already got a win over Kevin Johnson. Makhmudov is 29 and still hasn't stepped-up to that level of competition.

Dubois will only get better. Mak has Rice in a couple of weeks. He is a beast and big punchers like him do well into their thirties. Efe is my favorite of the young prospects though.

Disappointingly, Darmani Rock weighed in for tonight's fight at a flabby and fat 275 1/4 LBS. I'm about to give up on him as he's not stepping up in levels and carries 30-40 extra pounds. Not a great path for a fighter that doesn't have exceptional power.
