Marco Huck Training With Andre Rozier For Heavyweight Run
Cruiserweight legend Marco Huck is looking to make a splash in the Heavyweight waters, as he has linked up with legendary Brooklyn based trainer Andre Rozier.
Huck really needs no introduction to fight fans, having held the versions of the World Cruiserweight title for over 7 years, and pushed Alexander Povetkin to the limits for the World Heavyweight title in 2012.
Huck now sets his sights on the ever blossoming Heavyweight division, with a world title being the objective now and has linked up with Andre Rozier's Team Havoc in order to accomplish that goal.
The former IBO World Cruiserweight Champion Huck opened up about his plans going forward, "I want to get back in the ring and I hope to be fighting very soon in the USA at Heavyweight as I begin to work towards fighting for the World Heavyweight title.
"I am enjoying training with Andre Rozier, he is a great trainer and I believe he will bring the best out of me as a future heavyweight world champion."
Andre Rozier is a mainstay in Brooklyn and East Coast boxing, having guided the likes of Daniel Jacobs and Curtis Stevens from their teens in the amateurs all the way through to contesting world titles. Rozier's Havoc Camp has become a destination for elite fighters from around the world and Rozier gave his take on his new charge Huck.
He said, "Marco is getting used to our training style but we all believe he has the potential to keep improving and we're making some adjustments which I believe will make him better at heavyweight than he was at cruiserweight.
"Marco is a great man and a great fighter and if he wants to be, he can definitely become one of the world's most elite heavyweight fighters given the opportunity.
"He is fitting into our camp very well and the boys we currently train such as Sadam Ali, Duke Micah and more all think he's a great guy. He definitely has a home with us in Brooklyn and a happy fighter is a dangerous one, and that can only lead to success for Marco."

Of course. Getting old? Slipping at your natural weight? Move up, it naturally makes you younger and faster...
Re: Marco Huck Training With Andre Rozier For Heavyweight Run
He will get no where ... he just beat povetkin because povetkin had stamina issue due to not injecting juice every morning back then . We all know that povetkin lost every fight that was not juicing. Povetkin is most over estimated heavyweight in history of boxing
Re: Marco Huck Training With Andre Rozier For Heavyweight Run
Huck needs more help than a new trainer. He's going nowhere fast.

Re: Marco Huck Training With Andre Rozier For Heavyweight Run
Cruiserweight legend Marco Huck has switched up his career in a massive way as he has relocated to New York in order to work with one of the world's most highly respected trainers Andre Rozier.
Huck is no stranger to anyone in world boxing, having destructively demolished many of the main cruiserweights of the last decade, which included 13 defences of his world title. The former IBO and WBO cruiserweight champion is now eyeing a run in the heavyweight division and explained his decision to move stateside to work with Rozier and move up to heavyweight.
The Captain said, "I wanted a fresh start and to work with a top class trainer like Andre Rozier and I have found a new home in the USA. I am training harder than I have ever in my career and I know that this change will only bring me success in the Heavyweight division.
"Training really is another level with Andre and the Havoc team and I promise everyone they will see a more destructive Marco Huck than they have ever seen before. The Havoc team are really the best and I am blessed to be working with them and I am very grateful for this opportunity.”
Rozier has guided multiple world champions to success with the most notable being Daniel Jacobs. Huck discussed his plans now he is set to campaign in the heavyweight division, “I want to be a 2 weight world champion and I believe this move in training camp and not having to cut weight will make a massive difference in my performance and I will become heavyweight champion.
“I will fight anyone in the heavyweight division if it helps me get towards my goal on becoming heavyweight champion of the world.
Brooklyn legend and Captain of Team Havoc Andre Rozier gave his assessment on his new big punching charge, “Marco is a legend in boxing, we are all aware of how he can fight, but we are looking to add to Marco’s game and that will be the ingredients to bringing him success in the heavyweight division.
“He has settled very well and all of the boys like him in the gym. The camp, in general, is buzzing, all the boys push each other and that is only helping Marco finally push himself to reach his full potential. We still haven’t seen the best of Marco Huck.”

Nope, can't even find any mention of anything Twitter or news sites. The fact it's flying under the radar tells me it might be a relatively low-level opponent which sucks.

I'd much rather see him fight Joshua than Ruiz.

Seems to be the current requirement!punchoutsb wrote: ↑27 Apr 2019, 14:55 I follow boxing, never been a huge Huck fan but he has two arms which instantly makes him a top HW contender in 2019.

Re: Marco Huck Training With Andre Rozier For Heavyweight Run
Former long-reigning cruiserweight world champion Marco Huck (41-5-1, 28 KOs), of Berlin, Germany, will continue his comeback as a heavyweight, vying in an eight-round bout. Huck held the WBO World Cruiserweight Title from 2009-2015, making 13 defenses. He lost the title, in a "Fight of the Year" contest to Krzysztof Glowacki, in August 2015 in Newark, New Jersey.
In June 2018, Huck officially moved up to the heavyweight division, stopping Yakup Saglam inside four rounds in Munich, Germany. Huck's Broadway Boxing debut on May 17 will be just his second bout in the United States.

Re: Marco Huck Training With Andre Rozier For Heavyweight Run
Do we really care? Is Huck going anywhere? He's just a trial horse in waiting.
Re: Marco Huck Training With Andre Rozier For Heavyweight Run
He's only 34, which other than for the elite heavies, is not that old for a heavyweight. Povetkin, Ortiz and Pulev are all quite a few years older than him. We know he's more skilled than 90% of the heavyweights but their youth and size might come into play. There are definitely some matchups that would be fun to watch and he could upset some top 20 guys.
That's only of course if he gets some challenging fights within the next year or so, which it doesn't look like will happen at this rate.
