Tommy Langford vs Lerrone Richards
Former British and Commonwealth Middleweight champ Langford fights 11-0 Richards for the vacant Commonwealth Middleweight title on the Dubois/Lartey card on BT this Saturday, interesting fight big step up for Richards who although has looked good from what ive seen is in the first time with someone who's not a journeyman so its whether he can make that step up to title level
Langford far more experienced, coming in off a routine 6 rounder after suffering back to back SD losses to Welborn in 2 FOTY , the rematch was a strange fight, action packed but I thought Langford won it but he did look vulnerable and a bit punchy, down twice early and looked well on the way to being stopped but credit for lasting the distance and even clawing it back on some peoples cards
Richards only has 3 KOs on his slate so not a puncher and more of a slick southpaw, could go either way and I have a feeling Richards might stop Langford late, Langford has had a tough few fights, Richards could be getting him at the right time

Don't think I've seen Richards box as far as I can recall. I've read and heard good things about him though. Langford should ask some questions you'd think. Never really got the early hype around Langford though....

Re: Tommy Langford vs Lerrone Richards
I’ve got a few quid on Richards Points.
Langford looked like his punch resistance had gone against Welborn.
Showed heart of a lion to get through.
Same scenario here. I see Richards hurting Langford every time he lands (even though he’s not a big puncher)
Hope Tommy proves me wrong though.

God that was fvcking aids, I only gave Langford a share of the opener, TBH there could've been about 6 even rounds but I just edged them towards Richards, usually on the basis on 1 or 2 shots, he's a quality boxer but boring as hell and seems to fight within himself, can def see him losing eventually due to his lack of workrate, still Langford never really gave him much bother, just done the same thing over and over
Richards upped it in the second half, looked great in the 10th, looked like he was going for the finish, drilled Langford's head back numerous times with right uppercuts but Langford took them well TBF, Richards does have quality, sharp, good defensively and counters effectively but he's gonna have to learn how to up the tempo and look to get guys out of there instead of just edging rounds against guys he's far better than

Langford just isn't that good at all mate! I remember thinking I was going mad when allegedly were bumming him up! Same as when they were sooking Paul Butlers anus! I thought I was losing ithandsofstone wrote: ↑27 Apr 2019, 18:16 God that was fvcking aids, I only gave Langford a share of the opener, TBH there could've been about 6 even rounds but I just edged them towards Richards, usually on the basis on 1 or 2 shots, he's a quality boxer but boring as hell and seems to fight within himself, can def see him losing eventually due to his lack of workrate, still Langford never really gave him much bother, just done the same thing over and over

Re: Tommy Langford vs Lerrone Richards
Richards is a class boxer with (it would appear) no power and definitely no urgency. It'll be interesting to see how he reacts to stepping up in class - he's the kind of fighter you can see just as easily see rising to the occasion as being soundly outworked the first time he has to chase a fight.
Re: Tommy Langford vs Lerrone Richards
I never got the hype in Butler mate. I always thought he was very normal! I don't mind admitting that I was well aboard the Price train thoughhandsofstone wrote: ↑28 Apr 2019, 04:36 Aye your right mate although I admit I was on the Butler hypetrain , finally got off after he got schooled by Rodriguez

I also thought Nathan Cleverly was the second coming of Joe Calzaghe
Re: Tommy Langford vs Lerrone Richards
BJS would have murdered Langford - I remember piling money on Khurtsidze to beat him as well - he looks shot now.
The 2 x Welborn wars have finished him.
Re: Tommy Langford vs Lerrone Richards
I fancied the wee Georgian dude to walk through Langford as well mate. Didn't place a bet though unfortunately
Have to give Langford credit for the 2 Welborn fights because he showed his toughness and they were great to watch but they only highlighted his frailties.
