And Cal Smith is supposed to be defending his world title.

Hearn just worries about Katie Taylor.

She’s the only one with an opponent that’s not TBA.

Has to be top 15 with belt holder - mind you rankings these days who knows - Ryder was no1 for Smith.

I haven't looked at any rankings in probably 20 or 25 years. I doubt any division has 15 solid fighters past the champions. Heck, none probably have 10.

Hearn must be really struggling to match Smith considering he just won the WBSS baffles me!

Anthony Simms offered he can step up against him. He is big, he can punch and he is undefeated,. Im doubt Hearn can get anyone better in 1 month.

WBA
Ryder
Eubank
Chudinov
Akaway
Lemeiux
Quillin
Parker
Fielding
Feigenburtz
Yerbossynuly
Bazinyan
Dunn
Mitchell
Alamos
Shishkin

That was Top15 under Smith but might have changed.

Ryder is fighting Akaway on Canelo Card.

Wow, thx. Lol, I like Smith & aj but I don't think I can even log in to dazn for a Josh/butterball & Smith/Alamos double bill.

Zac Dunn 27-1......looks good record.

Then you remember his loss was KO to David Brophy 😂

It's awful watching this unfold. I love dazn, probably saves me $500 a year but it's never going to succeed here.

I've always wanted to see Callum vs Zurdo 168/175 lbs. :box:

I honestly don’t know who Callum Smith will be facing on the 1st June, but after reviewing the WBA’s rankings, coupled with using the process of elimination (i.e. ruling out fighters that compete on rival networks, are injured, recently defeated or already have fights lined-up), then my guess is that Eddie Hearn will likely chose between the likes of Fedor Chudinov, Zach Parker or Jayde Mitchell.

I also watched the Queensberry Promotions boss explain a couple of days ago that he’s been told by Bob Arum that Gilberto Ramirez is sending a letter to the WBO vacating the title, as he’ll definitely moving up to 175lbs, which essentially rules out a fight between Smith and Zurdo.

My money is on Fedor Chudinov or Zach Parker becoming Callum Smith's next opponent, but who knows?

Can't see it being Parker, has he even recovered from his shoulder injury yet?

Chudinov makes sense, though.

You're probably right. I read that Parker's injury would keep him out of action until April. It's just that his promoter (Sauerland) has a long-term partnership with Matchroom and the Englishman is highly-rated by the WBA, hence the reason for my logic.

So Chudinov could be the most likely opponent.

Parker is one of Sauerland's better prospects and has only just picked up the British with a bit of a gift decision. Doubt Nisse will throw him in with any top level guy any time soon.

The WBA rankings are a bit thin on decent contenders tbh. Jesse Hart or Jose Uzcategui would be a reasonable opponents, but they are nowhere to be seen in the rankings.

Hart is moving up, likely fighting Alvarez.

Smith vs BJS is one I'd like to see, but I doubt that will ever happen.
