Agree. Being a pressure fighter/initiator is not going to do him favours at his age. Having said that, he did well tactically vs Canelo in that he didn’t trade hooks with the hooker Canelo and went on his jab but I’d say it was a draw Canelo 2.

Contrary to what some people think I believe that GGG's main ability is his boxing skills. He had to neglect that in the past because he had to appeal the public with the 'mexican style' to gain a big market share. If he goes with a trainer like Buddy McGirt or team Loma, GGG would be able to give us some good performances against good opposition. I agree that in the Jacobs fight, GGG didn't look spectacular but he edged it with that knock down. He tried too hard to T/KO Jacobs and it didn't work.

Deffo mate. I thought that at the time. Jacobs is no mug and was boxing well. GGG should've just boxed. He must've had the Pirog fight in his mind and thought he could walk through Jacobs.

GGG won that but it didn't look like in the Lemieux fight. Also I think GGG fought the best version of Jacobs with those TKO wins over Quillin and Mora.

Apologies for butting into someone else’s debate, but Lemieux’s victory over Hassan N'Dam took place almost four years ago and the Curtis Steven’s win happened more than two years ago, with the American never being classed amongst the top-ten 160lb-ers by The RING or ESPN. It's not a particularly impressive victory.

In my mind, time doesn’t stand still and all fighters inevitably reach a certain point during their career where they're on the decline. Also, David Lemieux now competes at 168lbs.

I do agree with those who believe that the current iteration of a weight-drained 160lbs version of the Canadian puncher would very likely suffer ones-sided defeats to the likes of Demetrius Andrade and Jermall Charlo.
