Bilal Akkawy v John Ryder on Canelo card

Post by ninetypercent »

I noticed Bilal has taken this fight on short notice. I watched a few John Ryder fights and he is a bit slow and I think there to be hit. Very good power though. I think he will win but Bilal has the power to be a chance. I took Bilal at $4.25 and then they immediately took the fight down. I certainly didn't bet enough to get that reaction so it is a bit curious.

Thanks Grant. It is supposed to be broadcast on the Main Event page at around 9.00am. I notice Sportsbet now have Akkawy at $2.63 so I guess I was lucky to get in early.

Very disappointed today, Bilal was always open, and he got caught.
At least he doesn't look too hurt and now knows what he has to work on

Unfortunatly at this stage you can safely say it was all about levels ,, BUT , training in the states with top trainers and top sparring may well change the level , i hope so , because its nice to see ANYONE carry out there dreams .

I think his lack of amateur experience really showed when he got hurt amongst top company. Didn't know what to do and I don't think he will learn that part of the game from sparring. You get hurt like that sparing and they just stop the round. He has great power and really good on the front foot but that's probably why he hasn't learnt much else. That alone won't get him where he wants to go.
