Don’t see FW putting up money for JJ v Parker.

You are right. I overlook the political/financial side of things at time. They really would be good markers though.

Okay then,. Gashi, or Takkam for Joyce this year. Both reachable. Both a step up.

DrDuke wrote: 28 Apr 2019, 09:03 I see it as a rather close bout, because Joyce isn't too polished boxer. Yeah, he is more experienced, he's mobile and hard-hitting, but he leaves too many openings. He's not elusive enough to school Dubois. Maybe Dubois is green, but he can fight in a collected way and find openings for his bombs.
Did someone just call JJ mobile or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

Dubois would blast him out if this happens, just watch. Joyce is slow as molasses.

If I was manager of Dubois, I seriously doubt I'd subject him to a challenging fight the likes of Joyce at this point. Being only 21, Daniel might be able to handle Joe, but why take the risk at such an early age? I would feed him a few more rugged and durable opponents, and get his record up to about 20-0-0 before allowing him to face other fighters who might garner him more money at that point in his career.

Dubois has more power than Joyce, but Joyce has a good chin and a much better engine. The problem for Joyce is that he doesn't hit hard enough to avoid facing that considerable danger for several rounds. But I fancy Joyce to survive, in which case I only see him winning.

This fight won't happen anytime soon. Joyce wasnt exactly pushing it, quickly describing it as an option before changing the subject.

Joyce is on a fastrack whereas Dubois is gathering experience. I can't see it happening.

handsofstone wrote: 28 Apr 2019, 11:31 I'm surprised so many people reckon Dubois isn't ready for Joyce, if Joyce wasn't as experienced as he is and was of a similar age to Dubois I think people might think differently, maybe not but I think skillwise although their different boxers there isn't much to choose, Joyce might have the pedigree but he doesn't care too much for defence, his chin looks solid judging by the way he ate up Stiverne's punches but you wouldnt recommend allowing Dubois to hit him like that even though Stiverne might actually be a harder hitter....maybe

As boring as they might come across, they let their fighting do the talking, I think everyone would agree to prefer that to some loudmouth chump whos all noise like Broner

Agreed. I stand by the opinion that Joyce is a KO waiting to happen. Dubois has enough basic boxing skills to completely run through Joyce for me. Joyce reminds me of a more advanced version of Larry Olubamiwo. I'd probably take the John McDermott that starched Olubamiwo to starch Joyce. For his actual skill level, Joyce may be the most overrated boxer in the world. He's awful

Kownacki has beaten Tufte, Szpilka. Kiladze, Martin and Washington. Most of those guys would eat Dubois alive. DDD was rocked by the second best heavyweight in Ghana. Dubois is a muscle bound guy with very little defence and is a KO loss waiting to happen. Gorman and Joyce would dominate him.

Doesn't matter. He's a big dude and landed flush. Dubois took it, he looks pretty solid to me.
