Artur Beterbiev vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic on Bn - 4 May 2019
Live from 2.30am to 7am
The IBF World Light-Heavyweight Title
Unbeaten Light-Heavyweight Artur Beterbiev makes the second defence of his IBF World Title against top contender Radivoje ‘Hot Rod’ Kalajdzic on May 4th, live in the UK and Ireland on allegedly.
In the co-feature at the Stockton Arena, Filipino sensation Jerwin Ancajas defends his IBF Super-Flyweight crown for a seventh time, forming the other half of a cracking double-header in California.
Beterbiev (13-0, 13 KOs) is the only World Champion to currently hold a 100% knockout ratio. He won his belt on allegedly in November 2017 against Enrico Koelling, then faced Callum Johnson last October and was knocked down before recovering to stop the Brit in four rounds.
“I am very excited to defend my IBF Light-Heavyweight Title on May 4 against a high-quality opponent like Radivoje Kalajdzic,” Beterbiev said. “This will be a great fight, and I can’t wait to get in the ring and show once again why I am the best 175-pound boxer in the world.”
“I’m thrilled to get this opportunity to challenge for a World Title against a great fighter like Artur Beterbiev. It will be a very exciting fight. Both of us hit hard, so expect fireworks,” said Kalajdzic (24-1, 17 KOs), who has three straight stoppage victories since a highly controversial split decision loss to Marcus Browne.
Should he maintain his undefeated record, Beterbiev will be eyeing mouth-watering unifications with the likes of Sergey Kovalev (WBO), Oleksandr Gvozdyk (WBC) and Dmitry Bivol (WBA).
-------------------------------------------
The IBF World Super-Flyweight Title
Ancajas (30-1-2, 20 KOs) - the longest reigning World Champion at 115lbs - takes on no. 1 contender Ryuichi Funai (31-7, 22 KOs) on May 4th.
In 2017, the 27-year-old had a breakout year with two impressive stoppage wins against Teiru Kinoshita on a Manny Pacquiao undercard, and Jamie Conlan in Belfast four months later.
Since his only defeat in 2012 Ancajas hasn’t lost in 18 bouts, but he wants to make a statement after a disappointing draw to Alejandro Santiago last time out.
“I was hard at work three weeks after my last fight with Santiago,” Ancajas said. “I am going to be in the best shape in my upcoming fight with Funai. Coming off my last fight, I really want to give a great performance and defend my World Title in style for the fans in Stockton.”

Re: Artur Beterbiev vs. Radivoje Kalajdzic on allegedly - 4 May 2019
Never seen Kalajdzic before that I'm aware but seen a couple of people online saying not to sleep on him and smell an upset, his only loss was the SD to Browne which is decent form and with 17KOs to his name might be able to test that chin of Beterbiev's as Johnson did
Beterbiev is a strange one, for someone with his amateur pedigree I think he's a bang average boxer but his power is frightening, you'd fancy him to KO anyone he fights if he lands, I think the Bivol's and Gvozdyk's of the world would outbox then stop him but they'd better not let him land 1st
Looking forward to this fight actually, never watched Kalajdzic before but I wont be surprised to land on Beterbiev clean, whether he can get him out of there before Beterbiev lands is another thing

Beterbiev (13-0, 13KOs) weighed 174.4 pounds for the second defense of the title he claimed in a 12th round knockout of Enrico Kölling in Nov. ’17.
Kalajdzic (24-1, 17KOs) checked in at a trim and fit 173 pounds for his first career title fight.

Kalajdzic only lost to bronwe who i rate , Beterbiev is i think is a crude fighter , strong ko power on him always dangerous , but he can be put down walks on to shots, i asume Beterbiev will win ,

bert is crude and again he showed easy to hit and got hurt a bit
but he defo has that 'every punch hurts' power
he made hot rod look really weak but that kid beat browne imo

Poor stoppage IMO, beterbiev looked too strong but he's vulnerable. If they were so concerned about rods welfare a warning about the rabbit punches wouldn't have hurt. To be fair he was bending over, best Artur has looked to me.

Yeah, I agree with the point mentioned above, that Beter is a deadly puncher, but easy to hit. He can't box. He learns nothing. He fights stiffs and try to batter them. That won't work against a good boxer.

Wasn't this fight best fight to watch, fun at times but overall a bit messy, nothing new learned about Beterbiev, seriously hard hitting but defintley hittable, Kalajdzic tagged him a few times but he just walked forward and kept throwing, overwhelmed Kalajdzic for the KD in the 3rd, accumulation of punches finally putting him down, Kalajdzic maybe should've tried to use his height and reach to avoid Beterbiev until he recovered but he chose to fight it out which was never gonna end well, still I thought the stoppage was a bit premature, probably would've been delaying the inevitable but seemed a bit quick

Bad stoppage, thought Hot Rod was landing some ok shots and deffo pushed Bert back once or twice.
Scrappy fight with some fun moments, Bert is a shut out waiting to happen when he gets a tough bastard with good pedigree. And there’s loads of them about and around the weight.

Enjoyed the fight and was pretty exciting at times. Beterbiev not unbeatable, but it will take a lot to do so.
