the lad done well, if mcgregor can get himself out of the legal mess he is currently in that would be his biggest win...

So the record has held for 20 years. A bit surprising.

I wonder what the gate would be if Ali-Frazier 1 could be transported to 2019. Massive, undoubtedly.

Tickets back then could be had cheap, at least by today's standards. The lowest prices were only $20.

Ringside was just $150. Today it would be $15,000.

In 98 ringside was $150? Wow.

Well, TBH, a lot of the BIG BIG fights happen in Vegas don’t they?

Not saying MSG has had big fights.

Mayweather was doing more than $30m for his super fights in Vegas, and the recent Canelo-GGG fights both surpassed $20m.

Had FMJ ever fought a super fight in MSG, the record would have been broken a while ago.

No.

Ringside for Ali-Frazier 1 at MSG in 1971 were priced at $150.

I'm not sure what Holyfield-Lewis tickets went for 28 years later, but I suspect more than $1,000.

Now I've come across a New York Times article that list prices for Holyfield vs Lewis as ranging from $100 to $1,500.

It was the first heavyweight championship fight at MSG since Bowe vs Dokes 6 years earlier.
