What was the result of the Kalnars fight?

It was a 4 rounder in May 2016 - Dan won on points - Kalnars down 4 times.

There was one more ring appearance. Nov 2015 Dan was in with Luan Krasniqi at a charity event in Germany. Krasniqi appeared to inflict a bad KO, but Dan later said he fell over, as agreed beforehand, since it was a charity event...

Wasn't the Mairis Briedis fight supposed to be an 'exhibition' (very unconvincing 'knockdowns') but that's gone on Danny's record?

Yes mate, there was quite a discussion about this a while back on the 'Records Queries & Updates' forum.

Funny thing is that both 'fights' were Latvian Boxing Federation events - Briedis result got recognised, but Kalnars didn't.

Can only presume that the Latvian Federation did something or other to make themselves unrecognised by BoxRec inbetween the fights.

Just going bak to Kalnars - the referee did everything possible to help him hear the final bell - the counts on the KDs were VERY S---L---O---W

I had the impression that Danny had been regarded as the 'home' fighter for the last few years (see the Tyson Beater etc) so I'm surprised that Edgars was helped in such a fashion.

I've had a search and come up blank.

Kalnars was Latvian, the show was in Latvia, hence the assistance

Both fighters turned up, but Draskovic pulled out at the last minute - claiming injury.

German TV shows both in the ring. Williams told those present that his opponent was scared & didn't want to fight him!!

Pity this never happened as Williams would probably have won by stoppage.

Real shame for those punters who bought tickets specifically to see this

This would've been a rematch 15 years in the waiting....
