Doesn’t need to be right on Campbell’s foot step. IF he wins, he can have his first defence at Hull KR if that’s the case.
Let’s hope so and gives UK fans chance to see a special talent.

Will it be PPV Card ? Loma’s still going to be looking for 1-2m for the fight - not going to pay that with Sat night fight card purse.

Gonna have to be a STACKED card.

Hearn is saving 'stacked' cards for Whyte's future PPV card anyway.

I'm sure SKY/Matchroom can folk out a good £2m base purse for Loma.

Then we’ll probably get the Battle of Britain bullsh1t if Crolla fights Campbell where one of them will get another beating most likely Crolla.

Is Campbell going to consent to his public execution? There must be another route he can take?

Luke is a European, Olympic champion. He took Linares all the way in the worst possible circumstances when he cried himself to sleep every night. He’s not a mug. He’s a huge underdog but technically very good himself. He would hammer Crolla, Burns, etc.

Loma straight in ahead of 2,3,4,5 in the Rankings.

Same with Whyte at the moment - and that’ll end up in court - they are making some bizarre calls.
Yeah but Lomachenko holds other belts in the division, so I'm guessing the WBC would argue that a unification match up supersedes the rankings.

Yeah I do quite like Luke but he surely realises this is unwinnable and a type of destructive loss that devalues future Luke Campbell fights

Yep x2.
Loma is a heavy favourite against everyone, but this isn't a mismatch at all. Campbell has size/length and home advantage. He's miles better than Crolla.

WBC just want the biggest sanctioning fees like all the other bodies, that’s why you’ll never see AJ stopped of a belt.

If its on the UK it will be a PPV IMO.

Hearn has always seen Campbell as this cross over star (hasn't quite worked out) and Loma will appeal to fight fans here.

It something similar to Brook vs GGG - GGG in the USA not a UK PPV star....... Brook vs a nobody on a poor bill (not PPV)..... Bring GGG to the UK and its a PPV.

That's the comparison I see it as.

Yeh.. That's true.

Can say the same for Bellew-Usyk, Would have been more applicable had Bellew not fought Haye twice.

Huh?
Why would the WBC care what AJ is upto?

I think it is the desire to put the WBC belt on Lomachenko that has driven this decision. If it were to maximise fees then they would have said Campbell v one of the three names being originally mooted with the condition that the winner boxes Lomachenko next. That would seem like a better option all round anyway whilst Lomachenko sorts his hand out.

I didn’t mention AJ and the WBC, I said the other orgs are unlikely to stip him, due to the huge fees they make of his back, wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make AJ mandatory for the WBC now though after this.

At the very least, Campbell at least gets a home game for his troubles. In fact, it’s something upon which Lomachenko and his side insisted in pursuing the title.

“In talking with Loma and Egis Klimas (Lomachenko’s manager), they always wanted to fight in the UK,” Bob Arum, Lomachenko’s Hall of Fame promoter told BS.com. “They had a great experience there when Loma’s good friend, (undefeated cruiserweight champion) Oleksandr Usyk fought Tony Bellew last year. Of course, it’s also where he won his second Gold medal (in the 2012 London Olympics, following his Gold medal win in the 2008 Beijing Olympic, where he was named the tournament’s top boxer).

“That’s the plan we have for the fight. Eddie is looking for an arena and we will determine what the TV will be in the UK.”

Hearn has been the longtime primary content provider for Sky Sports and its Box Office arm in the UK. Arum, through his deal with ESPN and partnership with Hearn’s UK promotional rival allegedly, has a working relationship with BT Sport.

However that plays out, hometown advantage is the only concession Lomachenko’s side is willing to grant.

“The one absolute must is that the fight will be shown in the U.S. on either ESPN or ESPN+,” insists Arum, who has an exclusive pact with ESPN through 2025. “We’re fighting over there, maybe even in Campbell’s hometown (Hull, England) for all I know. But it will air on our platform, in the afternoon to make up for the time difference over there.”

Campbell will do way better than Crolla. Far more pedigree and ability. He'll do well against a future great. Good fight for both.

As Campbell is fresher too he'll be able to stand up to the inevitable punishment a bit longer before falling.

It’s a fight he’s not likely to win but he’ll give a very good account, earn a fortune and he can win the title further down the road

Ah I see what you mean.
A champion from another organisation isn’t ranked so AJ can’t become WBC mandatory.

Sounds like Eddie’s justification for these fights.

I bet Loma is buzzing, I have often heard him talking about his dream of boxing in ‘Ull one day.

Sky won’t pay 2m for Loma without PPV. Wouldn’t be money even with ticket sales to cover it unless it’s PPV unfortunately.
