Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Navarrete makes the 1st defence of his WBO Super Bantamweight title in an immediate rematch against former champ Dogboe this Saturday on b/nation, bit of a surprise to see Dogboe exercise the rematch clause he took an absolute drubbing in the first fight, Navarrete too big strong, switched effectively and walked Dogboe down so fair play to Dogboe
Dogboe was in great form going into the first fight and was highly thought of from most boxing people coming off good wins over the likes of Magdaleno, Otake and Juarez and Navarrete had beat nobody of note but it just goes to show you, you can never tell with these unknown guys, just because they haven't beat a decent fighter yet it doesn't mean their a bad fighter themselves
I like Dogboe but I just cant se him turning things around this time, Navarrete's size and strength is too much, my only thinking is can Dogboe last the distance this time??
I reckon Navarrete can stop him, there's a lot of trainers who would've pulled Dogboe out last time, cant see Dogboe being as lucky this time, that first fight mustve took a lot out of him

I seem to remember Dogboe having a good first round and then slowly being beaten up. By the end it was hard to watch.
I am a Dogboe fan and hope he can turn things around this time.

Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Unless Dogboe improves by quite some distance, I'd tip Navarette to win again. Navarette looked really good.
I though Doeboe should have been pulled out by about the 9th. He took a painful beating and only his guts and conditioning kept him standing.
I think the allegedly team got a bit carried away with Dogboe (and that's fine, they obviously have a soft spot for him) and overlooked Navarette as simply a superior fighter. That said, if Isaac wins the rematch I will have to hold my hands up and say fair play to the guy, but it looks a tough ask to me.

Didn't Navarrette have a bum hand latter the first fight? He'll beat Dogboe down in the rematch and stop him late.

I like Dogboe too & fair play to him for taking on a big challenge in this rematch after a torrid bout first time round. I'm leaning towards a Navarrete stoppage in this one, Dogboe showed serious courage previously but I could see his corner ending proceedings early this time should the same pattern form.
Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Am I the only one who distinctly remembers Dogboe looking rubbish? I thought he looked zombified after the 2nd and couldn’t get any snap on his punches.
Navarette obviously very talented but I just have that feeling. I’m gonna say Isaac does it and I’m not sure how.
Always good when you’re invested in a fight cos you really like the kid. NEHO! NEHO!
EDIT: I mean to say he had a bad night and might be back to himself and make it a different fight this time

Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
First fight wasn't even close. Navarrete just looked too big and too much for Dogboe and I can't see things being any different this time round. Dogboe showing big balls taking the rematch straight away and obviously fancies the job. Hope he can pull it off but it's a big ask.
Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Dogboe is good. World class and his win over Magdelano was sensational, but I think Navarrete handed him a reality check. He's good, but Navarrete was better and is seemingly another top notch Mexican from the endless conveyor belt of champions.

Agreed. It's a horror style matchup for Dogboe. He needs an early KO, probably off his nice counter right hand. Problem is, Navarette was able to avoid most of them and when he did get caught with the odd flush shot, his chin looked like it was made of granite. I think he beats Dogboe down again for a late stoppage. The first fight should have been stopped.Stuarty wrote: ↑10 May 2019, 07:54 First fight wasn't even close. Navarrete has dogboe number, i cant see how dogboe can change it up to beat him, he will have to hold the centre of the ring and be patience throw hooks with navarrete walk in , got move in circles
Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Yeah fair assessment mate. The first fight was getting a little uncomfortable for me. I like Dogboe and it was tough watching him take a hiding. Can't fault him for bottle though the wee cùnt!TheLeprechaun wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 12:13 Agreed. It's a horror style matchup for Dogboe. He needs an early KO, probably off his nice counter right hand. I loaded hard on Navarette before first their fight cause of thinking of his mexican herritage, yOUg age, great heith and reach advantages and a huge value in odds like 8.00 on him. I have no arguments before rematch but a strange feeling that Dogboe (who is small but defenetely spesial fighter in superbanatam) asked for immediate rematch strongly not only because of his champimpions' egoi but has a good game plane how to change the fight mode of their first fight;. So my stake isd Dogboe for 3,00 and I think that is a great value

Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
somebody watch this? Who won?
Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Navarette kicked the ever loving sh*t out of him, and stopped him with 1 minute left in the fight. A savage beating.
Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Navarrete is just too big and strong for the wee fella! Hopefully he'll come again but that's 2 doings now so I doubt he'll ever be the same fighter! Navarrete looks a force! Him v Warrington at feather would be a cracker!
Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Bad decision making to take that rematch , styles makes fights and he beats dogboe every time ,
Hopefully it’s not ruined him and he can come again

Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
its not like navarette just suddenly landed a big punch to change the fight the first time around, he systematically beat dog down and it shoulldve been stopped. was surprised to see dogs side go for an immediate rematch
dogs a good fighter, but for a midget like him a tall rangy guy with akward skill, workrate, chin, and stamina is a bad combo. it basically negates his strengths and exploits his weaknesses

Navarrette is ALL wrong for Dogboe, to be honest I'm surprised he wasn't pulled out earlier. Absolute warrior but simply never getting the win & was taking heavy punishment much like the first bout. Hopefully it hasn't destroyed his future prospects but beatdowns like that can be tough to shake off - he is only 24 so fingers crossed.
Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
Dogboe took an absolute pasting. His father pulled him out a good few rounds too late. Fortunately, Vargas’ trainer took a more sympathetic and sensible decision for his fighter who was dismantled by Berchelt-Vargas.

Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
What an absolute warrior Dogboe is, the only man in the arena braver than him was his idiot of an old man, hard to fathom how a father can continuesly send his son out to take a sustained beating round after round, I would've stopped it around the 6th probably, Dogboe was just too brave for his own good, stood up to severe punishment to head and body, Christ knows how he made it into the 12th, what a chin, even the knockdown in the 6th looked more of a balance issue after taking a left hook whilst moving out the way, Dogboe's legs just didn't look alright all night, the big shots were having a noticible effect, in all fairness to Dogboe he was able to find the leverage to throw bombs and credit to him he never stopped trying to land big shots and was swinging from the rafters, he did tag Navarrete with a few big shots but he was wild mostly and most his shots were easily avoided
Navarrete was class again, got to work quick and hurt Dogboe early and that set the tone, switched stances and the uppercuts were the danger weapons, Dogboe's height and style made him a sitting duck for that shot all night, he hurt Dogboe in just about every round but by the 12th you'd have thought he's last the distance but Dogboe finally wilted after taking the big right. another left for good measure and belatedly Dogboe's dad finally threw the towel in, I doubt Dogboe will ever be the same guy he was before these 2 fights

With two good hands I figured Navarette by stoppage late.

Re: Emanuel Navarrete vs Isaac Dogboe 2
So predictable, it’s such a shame that Isaac the warrior has an absolute idiot for an old man - unforgivable really, there’s no way he’s the same after 2 sustained beatings like that. His dad should be ashamed of himself
