Dubois v Gorman July 13
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
Great fight and hats off to Frank for making it, with Joyce waiting in the wings for the winner he's assembled himself a good array of heavyweights along with Fury.
After Gorman stopped Sean Turner and Dubois unimpressed against Johnson I was all over Gorman to easily outbox Dubois, however DDD has stepped his game up with the stoppages over Cojanu and Lartey, showing he can go toe to toe if need be and took some clean shots against Lartey, who may not be anywhere near world level but he can sure hit hard.
Gorman equally unimpressed vs Cojanu and Johnson, let's be fair hardly anyone looks good against Johnson, I'd say the momentum is with Dubois at the moment but it's a real tough fight to pick, that said I'm going with the Dubois stoppage 8-10 with Gorman up on the cards. Looking forward to this one.

No complaints at all about this fight.. Well done to all involved for putting it on the line.
Got to love it when a couple young bucks say "fck it" to protecting the "0" at all costs and happy to test themselves. The loser can certainly bounce back and this has a whiff of Groves v Degale to it

Gorman looked in shape when I bumped into him in my supermarket
Nice fella and he's very local....be good to have a champ on the doorstep.

Fair play to both lads for getting to it early on in their careers
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
imagine a good HW scrap!
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
Dubois stoppage for me .
I think he's looked great so far in his fledgeling career .
I know Gorman is technically better , but does he carry enough pop ?
Guess we'll find out and if it doesn't fall through fair play to them both for taking it .

That's a fair summation.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑09 May 2019, 06:16 Gorman is the more rounded boxer, very smart and has quick hands. Dubois has the size, reach and power advantages, as well as being a decent inside fighter and having a good chin.
I reckon Gorman will establish an early lead, assuming he doesn’t trade with Dubois, but will inevitably tire down the stretch. Nathan needs to turn this into a chess match rather than a fight.
In my mind, Dubois is more than capable of coming back from behind to score a late stoppage, as long as he can force Gorman to engage with him.
I feel the outcome of this fight will be dependant on how things play out during the final few rounds, when both men are tired.
I favour Gorman to score a decision victory, but he may have to overcome adversity and do his upmost to avoid being stopped late by a desperate and relentless rally from Dubois.
I think Gorman's bodywork will help slow Dubois if he banks it early. Let's face it, while Dubois has an impressive early resume, no one was actually trying to beat him.
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
dub by ko, but lol whats with ppl acting like can crushing lartey was a legit banger and chin test
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
Gorman has opened up 2/1 outsider with bet365. No other markets available yet.

I haven't seen a lot of Gorman myself but I can't see FW sticking DDD in with him unless they fancy DDD .
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
dubois by tko
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
i can see gorman throwing and landing some good combos but not able to hold off the much stronger dub, dub will get to him and stop him, its when rather then if
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
Think dubious will stop gorman. I think gorman will be too slow .he likes to use he body elbows forearms against smaller fellas when up close think he will be countered quick . He can't handle quick punches in session .and does throw wildly and misess at times . Dubious is a naturaly a big man fast and has power ko win

Easy night for Gorman. He will win early by a brutal stoppage inside 3 rounds.

Sky were idiots to sign an exclusive deal with Matchroom for their boxing content. They're paying for it now.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑09 May 2019, 07:52 For the record, I’m not defending Eddie Hearn, but in terms of broadcasters, his stable of fighters are free agents and DAZN allegedly offers them bigger purses than Sky does. And DAZN expects the events they televise to be staged on US soil.
In order for Sky to compete with those purses and have the Matchroom events staged in the UK, they’ll have to be PPV’s, with this rule applying to the bigger names.
Fighters like Dillian Whyte are reluctant to compete on foreign soil, which is the reason why he’s still headlining Sky Box Office PPV’s.
And hence the reason why a British domestic fighter like Dave Allen, whose popularity was solely a result of his social media exploits, are headlining Sky’s boxing events. DAZN wouldn’t be interested in a fighter like that, since he's only popular in the UK.
The rest of Matchroom’s stable are mercenary’s that are willing to go anywhere expected of them by the highest bidder. Many of them aren't considered big enough names to headline PPV events in the UK, which means that from a financial perspective, their choice is relatively straightforward.
BT's partnership with ESPN may have different terms than Sky's business relationship with DAZN, which might explain the reason for the different approach used by Queensberry and Matchroom promotions.

is that patty cake pad work really useful? it seems kinda vaniety focused and silly but i see so many pros doing it

Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
I see parallels betweem Dubois-gorman and Joshua-Ruiz to be hones. The highly fancied, big punching, chiselled guy against the unfavoured guy who physically looks poor but is a skilled fighter.
Will be interesting.

Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
I don't rate it at all. It looks good but all its a routine at the end of the day. You can get anyone off the street and teach them to do that eventually. You ain't doing that in a fight so why would you do it on the pads is my view
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
Dubois in five. Gorman has never been in the ring with a bomber like Dubois, and Dubois is beginning to get underrated in this forum.

Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
I think Dubois is decent, but I don't think he's this super prospect that some have made him out to be. I think his power is overrated aswell. I think the Nigerian prospect Ajagba is a bigger puncher.
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
Gorman points
Re: Dubois v Gorman July 13
gorman has faster hands and good combos and should land, but i dont think hell have the power or strength to hold of big dub, big dub by stoppage imo
