R.I.P. Bert Cooper

Post by Contendeh »

Sad to hear that Bert Cooper has passed away today. Smokin’ Bert was a true warrior. His fight with Mercer is an all time classic and he was an exciting last minute replacement against Holyfield; Cooper also gave Moorer a good fight.

Rest in Power, Bert.

Despite being a journeyman, he'll be remembered as a one of the toughest and most exciting fighters of the 90s. RIP.

RIP, Bert, a very dangerous fighter just a few punches away from the world heavyweight title.

What a fun fighter to watch. I remember the first time that I saw him was when he demolished Willie De Witt, he looked like the second coming of Smokin Joe.

When he was good he was very good, when he was bad he was very bad. Even when in decline he'd still pull out the odd result. RIP Bert, thanks for some great memories.
