I understood every single word. It was only when I tried to put them together to determine what the hell he was intending to say that ran into a wall.
Boxrec forum how many active members ?
Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
It really is.
I also think that the rise of Facebook, Twitter and Reddit have led to a fall of the popularity of forums in general.
Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
I tend not to post as much just because of the redundancy of most topics. That and I guess the older members of the forum I'm used to see posting aren't around much anymore. Add in some annoying trolls as well....
Can't say if that's the same for everybody else. As NFC pointed out about, FB, Twitter, etc have also declined forums overall as well. Plus the sheer amount of boxing websites/forums overall.

Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
I’m not really sure how many members are left on this site. When you sift through the EO alts there are probably very little.
Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
I read the posts but barely comment. Why would I subject myself to a response from EO and his facts. That happened once and it made me have a nervous breakdown ![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)

Most of the guys that posted in 2010 are still here.. But they only post in the OT.
Imagine the CS and B&I section was as busy as the OT

Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
Most of them think CS is utterly ruined by trolls that are allowed to continue posting rubbish and be overly combative. Many seem to be egocentric and self righteous pudenda to be honest.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 11:21 Most of the guys that posted in 2010 are still here.. But they only post in the OT.

Can't complain too much.
People need to chill out. Facts/Opinions.
Someone always thinks their opinions are more true or relevant than someone elses.

I like CS. I like most of the posters. More than I like off-topic. Let them stay there.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 11:25 Can't complain too much.

Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
Yeh, I'd rather discuss boxing on BoxRec and not other stuff..
I don't mind some of the topics, like the UFC or Football threads, but if I really wanted to discuss that, I'd join a forum that is mainly that.
But then again, I think all forums in general have an OT section.
Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
Those blokes on OT behave exactly like the reasons they say that CS is horrible. Ironic. There is no discussion from varying viewpoints, only insults and arguments. Very frustrating.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 11:34 Yeh, I'd rather discuss boxing on BoxRec and not other stuff..

Any thread, regardless of the topic, past 5 pages is a political pissfest. And any thread involving fat git/Carlos/wigun inevitably turns into him either blowing one of the few guys he likes for pages or measuring his dick online by attempting to belittle with poor jokes and boasting about his unbeatable life(which sounds miserable tbh)Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 11:45 Yeh. fuuck the threads that are like 10 pages long and 300 posts long.![]()

That’s because boxing is almost dead.

Not in the States. I think the desperation to stop the downturn in America us alienating one of the hotter markets in the UK.

I think if the dazn and ESPN+ formats work and a star comes through it could shift the decline in America 20 years of ppv has made boxing a niche sport it made a few boxers rich but took it out of the mainstream . Crawford could of been that guy but it's a bit late now to become a star I think ,Joshua isn't American but he would if been a good guy to kick start it all

It's a great time to be a fan in america, but it will never be a major sport here again. Just events here and there that mildly capture the publics interest.paddy chavez wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 16:54 I think if the dazn and ESPN+ formats work and a star comes through it could shift the decline in America 20 years of ppv has made boxing a niche sport it made a few boxers rich but took it out of the mainstream . Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
The boxing bosses got too greedy with the PPV. They used to have good boxing on tv free, like the Friday night fight of the week. US schools and colleges don't have boxing programs (when i was in college i wanted to box but the closest thing they had was wrestling which isn't close at all). Then all the right in your face corruption turns people off. Boxing dying in the US but MMA is growing in popularity.
Re: Boxrec forum how many active members ?
As amateur boxing goes, so goes the sport in America. We used to find heroes at the Olympics, now USA Boxing is practically invisible. Olympic boxing is what caused a resurgence in the UK, IMHO.Ilya Muromets wrote: ↑11 May 2019, 19:51 The boxing bosses got too greedy with the PPV.
