Sharper than him all night, total surprise to me, I thought Hurd would walk thru him. Pleased for Williams though, saw a preview show about him and he's not had the happiest of lives

Really good fight. ITV4 lost signal at the end though. I had to scramble to find a stream! I didn't score it but it seems as if it should be a clear win for J rock.

Cracking fight. Williams fought just about punch perfect. Some depth in this division and good fights being made. Would imagine there'll be a rematch.

Id like to see that again :TU: Williams was excellent as you said. He was winning the exchanges on the inside as well! Little step to the side then unloading. Excellent performance from him :TU:

Excellent fight well earned win for Williams, agreed with the 116-111 card, he looked well up for it and you knew early on he wasn't gonna be denied, Hurd's slow starting and disregard for defence proved his undoing, by the time it came to the part of the fight when he usually comes into it he'd took too much of a beating, what a chin he has though, still cant quite believe he only went down once in the whole fight, left hook in the 2nd caught him high, looked like Williams might get him of there but Hurd's beard is cast iron, stood up to massive right hands and left hooks, big clean punches, Williams targeted the body all night as well, some low but Hurd didn't complain, he's a warrior

Williams took his game up another level, he was excellent, took a few big shots himself but never looked hurt and fought hard to keep control of the fight, some performance

Superb performance from Williams! Such crisp, accurate punching from the offset, tagged Hurd repeatedly with the short right hook in particular throughout the fight. Great effort in the champion's hometown, comfortably the better man on the night & exposed a porous defence. Really like Hurd & I'm sure he will be in plenty more entertaining contests in the future.

To score that 115-114 with Hurd on the deck and clearly losing many rounds - I think Stevie Wonder might have been better.
