Russell loves his easy fights. Remember when he defended against Hyland

Re: Gary Russell v Kiko Martinez!
He’s actually been moaning that he isn’t getting big fights to be fair to him, saying if they don’t come soon he’ll retire
Re: Gary Russell v Kiko Martinez!
well, only fighting 1x per year makes it easy to forget about him when the time comes to talk about big fights. talent wise he obiously should be in those big fights though

I wish he would.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑13 May 2019, 07:45 He’s actually been moaning that he isn’t getting big fights to be fair to him, saying if they don’t come soon he’ll retire

Talented fighter, shame about inactivity & level of opposition
Re: Gary Russell v Kiko Martinez!
Amazing that Martinez is still only 33 and still European champ. It was 2006 when he did Dunne in a round to first win the title.
Re: Gary Russell v Kiko Martinez!
kiko always looked at least 10 years older then billed, i still find it hard to believe hes really as young as that lol

Re: Gary Russell v Kiko Martinez!
I'd love nothing more to see Martinez ice Russell Jr with a big fvck off haymaker, the guys a joke of a champion, fights once a year against mince, cant even remember the last time I seen him, Hyland I think, he's irrelevant as far as I'm concerned, Martinez long past his best, thought Santa Cruz was taking the piss defending against him 3 years ago but this is embarrassing , I noticed Martinez picked up the European recently but the opponent didn't look much cop, thought Martinez was excellent against Warrington but still had him losing by a point, if he can muster up that type of performance then I can live in hope that he ices Russell Jr
Russell Jr far too quick for Kiko, especially the hand speed, he'll be pinballing his head with combinations , i'd be surprised if Martinez goes into the second half

It seems like Martinez has been around forever! I hope he gets a decent payday out of this and I’d love for him to get the upset; I’ve never really bought into Russell...

Me too, Russell is bizarre, spends his whole career moaning that he can’t get big fights as if he’s some kind of draw, fights once a year and then this.handsofstone wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 14:36 I'd love nothing more to see Martinez ice Russell Jr with a big fvck off haymaker, the guys a joke of a champion, fights once a year against mince, cant even remember the last time I seen him, Hyland I think, he's irrelevant as far as I'm concerned, Martinez long past his best, thought Santa Cruz was taking the piss defending against him 3 years ago but this is embarrassing , I noticed Martinez picked up the European recently but the opponent didn't look much cop, thought Martinez was excellent against Warrington but still had him losing by a point, if he can muster up that type of performance then I can live in hope that he ices Russell Jr

Re: Gary Russell v Kiko Martinez!
Martinez getting stopped on a cut before the halfway mark sums this match up up perfectly, poo match up and poo fight in all honesty, bit like Saunders dominating Isufi, who cares?? Martinez tried to give it a go, pressed and let the punches go when in close but Russell Jr levels above him, too quick and sharp, lightening bursts teeing off on Martinez and it was a fairly easy win, Martinez did land 1 or 2 shots but Russell Jr never flustered
See you in 2020 champ
