Wilder wants a body on his record..
Re: Wilder wants a body on his record..
I feel like people need to understand what is real and fake in boxing. Wilder threatening to kill anyone is fake and done for views.
Re: Wilder wants a body on his record..
For an edge or if he’s putting on an act, it’s just a ridiculously stupid remark by a guy that’s not gonna pass any chemistry tests in his lifetime. Let’s face it, Wilder is a jackass with a low IQ who, if not for Boxing, would best hope to be the head bouncer at the bar in your local shopping plaza. So let’s just look at it honestly. Dumb comment by a really unintelligent individual who’s not smart enough to think before he speaks. I bet his IQ is literally hovering around 68

It's not like there's any interest in this fight.
If his comments made the internet and a few newspapers, it served its purpose in bringing notice that he has a championship bout on Saturday.

Laughing at this treat out loud. What is this golf? Like he s said before this is not a gentleman s sports. nobody asks to be hit on the head. Tyson said worst thing in the past as well. So now since its Wilder its the worst thing ever said and he should be suspended? come on now.... hate on the guy if you want to, criticize his boxing skills (and disregard his power as his haters usually do) but dont bring that sensitive ishhh to the sport!

YEAH that little guy I heard its in a comma still.. also his wife and kids filed bankruptcy ever since then. '' s far as I know nobody has ever seen him or her since '' Do you even listen to yourself?Ilya Muromets wrote: ↑15 May 2019, 13:27 Wilder is no good. I want to know what happened to the little guy - or girl - who was in that costume on the Spanish language tv show that he sucker punched with all his might and knocked out. As far as I know nobody has ever seen him or her since. Wilder said he didn't know a person was inside the costume. I hope that Wilder gets KO'd bad, but unfortunately I don't think Brezeale is the one who can do it.

The over-sensitive snowflakes that have a problem with Wilder's trash-talk were either not following boxing when Tyson said and did far worse things or they merely ignored it when Tyson threatened to eat Lennox Lewis' children and tear his hear out.bluegloves wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 01:49 Laughing at this treat out loud. Or telling Razor Ruddock if he didnt kill him in the ring it wont count!
Maybe these pansies whining about Wilder's trash-talk would feel more at-home watching doggie shows with prancing poodles on ESPN.

Re: Wilder wants a body on his record..
I think there's a big difference between Tyson's clear ridiculous remarks that would never actually happen, to Wilder stating his aim when he steps in the ring is to kill somebody, because it's legal in that setting.....
The fact it is a very real threat that COULD happen is key here.
No boxer should be entering the ring wanting to inflict long term damage to their opponent nevermind death! It's supposed to be a sport about respect and discipline. Wilders talk is anything but.
We see very often, a nasty knockout, and when the winner gets to interview he wishes his opponent good health and recovery......Will we see Wilder say "I hope that's my body"...if he gets a brutal KO?
Let's hope it is all purely talk to hype his fight, and he doesn't mean it seriously.

First impression is of course that he’s selling the fight but yeah I think he went too far. Let’s just imagine that DB does die in the ring. What would Wilder say in the aftermath?

Re: Wilder wants a body on his record..
If a boxer says their intention is to kill somebody, they should be permanently banned. Imagine how boxing looks to the world right now, the HW champion saying that. It will also bring more calls for boxing to be banned
Also, he's wrong. You can't legally kill somebody intentionally in any sport. You can accidentally kill someone but if you say "I'm intending on killing this guy" and you succeed, then that's murder and can and probably will be proven in court

Have you ever heard Tyson talk? Certainly nothing to applaud, but it's just words. It would be funny if breazeale knocked him out.joshj909 wrote: ↑15 May 2019, 05:08 Read that this morning. I used to think he was playing the villain but now I think he's actually a deplorable human being. Surely this is just cause to have his license revoked? You'd think any respectable commission would want to avoid having a death in the ring under their supervision, especially when the intent to do so was publicly laid out multiple times.

Reading this thread was amusing for a page or two, then it became tedious.
I do not like what Wilder said, but this is pro boxing. Every boxer besides the Malignaggi / Herrera types (possibly) goes into the ring looking for the opportunity to incapacitate their opponent.
Why?
Because the opponent is looking to do the same thing to them. Punchers throw as hard as they can. They are not calibrating their blows to just hurt an opponent. They are throwing blows to KTFO an opponent. The force utilized to incapacitate by a puncher is hopefully mitigated enough not to kill the opponent by the boxing gloves and the officials, including the ref and ring physician.
Who could say for sure that Ortiz Jr. had not literally killed Herrera the other night, before he was brought back to consciousness? Who would have been shocked if Herrera went into a coma for days?
Everyone was thrilled by Ortiz Jr.’s performance.
Boxing fans b!tch and moan about boxers who “run” and boring “chess matches,” and then condemn a man who puts his life on the line every time he steps into the ring for actually being honest about the intent with which he throws his bombs.
There is a reason that the Wilder v Fury rematch is not happening; the four letter word that does NOT spell Wilder.

I'm sure it is all talk but I hope for all his talk, he doesn't end up hurting someone badly, or worse.
He will never be the same if he does. He will retire or if he manages to continue, be seriously gun shy . Considering that's his game, then he would be over anyway.

Re: Wilder wants a body on his record..
Yes, It would be hilarious if he knocked him out. Tyson's a fool aswell, but as multiple previous posters have said Tyson said some unlikely things. Wilder believes he is in a fairly exclusive position (he's really not) where he has the right and craves to use this right to kill another man which is twisted.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 08:55 Have you ever heard Tyson talk? ..not that it matters, but if he said it for views, count me out..
Re: Wilder wants a body on his record..
I suppose the difference might be that Ortiz didn't walk away saying "I'm really disappointed that he got up and will apparently live. I was hoping that I would literally cause his death with my punches. Hopefully the next guy will die right there in the ring." It's just obviously classless as hell for a fighter to talk like Wilder is.ironbeard wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 09:01 Reading this thread was amusing for a page or two, then it became tedious.

I get the feeling Wilder has identity issues and is trying his best to be controversial. The whole body on the record thing is nothing more than an angle to keep people talking about him, just like this thread.

What rules does he ignore?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑15 May 2019, 16:45 I believe in free speech, but fighters shouldn't be allowed to bite the hand that feeds them by bringing the sport into disrepute, whereby the consequences of their actions could adversely affect the earning potential and social standings of their peers.
None of us truly have free speech. We all censor our actions and words based according to the environment.
Those that don't are unfortunate sufferers of Tourette's Syndrome.
Wilder is the WBC's world heavyweight champion. The WBC has rules and he ignores them.

It seems that saying you want a body on your record is hardly the type of speech that should be governed and restricted.
You're certainly entitled to find it distasteful. But to prohibit it is pure nonsense.
I don't expect gems of wisdom to be routinely uttered by professional prizefighters.

Tyson was much worse. Filthy fighter in the ring too. He tried to quit and break Botha's arm. Whatever you think of him personally, wilder is a pretty clean fighter. Seriously, the dude bit off a man's ear!joshj909 wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 10:29 Yes, It would be hilarious if he knocked him out. No comparison. Tyson told a female reporter she'd have to have sex with him if she wanted to speak to him. Otherwise she needed to keep her mouth shut..... and Wilder is the unacceptable one???Onetimeonly wrote: ↑16 May 2019, 11:37 Tyson was much worse. Filthy fighter in the ring too.
