Lee Haskins: retired?

Anyone have any news on Lee Haskins? He was scheduled to fight an eliminator in the Phillipines late last year which never happened. Has he retired? I couldn't find any recent news on a google search.

He's had a decent career if this is to be it, but I would have liked to see whether he could claim another belt definitely one of my favourite fighters I really appreciate his unorthodox style...

He`s almost done I think,talking about another couple of fights then hanging them up for good.
His son`s about to turn pro at 18,puts it into perspective doesn`t it..

Yes, obviously he's nearing the end but it's rather strange that the eliminator fight disappeared and there has been nothing mooted since. It seems rather pointless to have a couple of fights just for the sake of it, with nothing major in terms of titles.

I didn't realise he had a son that old, he's only around mid-thirties himself...

His career was always 1-2 fights a year if he was lucky.

Couldn't have put it any better myself, no disrespect to him but I can live without watching another Lee Haskins fight again.

Last I heard, the fight in Philippines was postponed for later summer this year.

I liked Haskins, but sometimes his style would really jar against certain opponents.

I think Haskins vs Broadhurst was the very best example. It was the worse mix of styles I’ve seen.

That said, when it came together he looked good.

PS- be interesting to see his son. Good luck to him.

Nail on the head right there. There were times when he looked super slick, picking his unorthodox shots with style, but they were few and far between. More often than not he looked like he was lunging in and constantly getting tied up against his opponent.

Sure there was a fight in Monte Carlo where he looked brilliant, Murray v ggg undercard maybe.

I felt sorry for Broadhurst in their first scrap, Prime time TV & Haskins just spoiled to a win with that dire but effective style of his. Not knocking him, as he's had a good career, and it worked for him. It's just 'not for tv'. Saying that, Broadhurst 2 in Prizefighter was a scrap, I never thought Sky would ever allow that bout again, but then it was born on here that Prizefighter. Who remembers us organising that Prizefighter, getting most of the fighters onboard, and then tweeting Eddie? Fair play to Eddie as he got it on too.
