Taylor's nearly fukced it!!

Baranchyk, who is rated No. 5 by The Ring at junior welterweight, looked physically formidable at 139.5 pounds.

Taylor, who is rated No. 2 by The Ring, also looked to be in outstanding condition but came in two ounces over the 140-pound limit

Members of both camps went behind the stage, where it was agreed that Taylor would be given extra time to lose the excess, although a rumor was circulating that the challenger had begun to rehydrate by that point.

The confusion seemed to stem from the weights being announced in kilograms.

As the media left, all parties were confident that Taylor would make weight at second attempt.

He made the weight, despite taking on some water after the weigh in. Was a bit of a farce, they confused it with the kgs, and he assumed he had made it and stepped off and started swigging a drink. Schoolboy error by all involved and tbh, especially the McGuigans.

This being tight at the weight game is always risky... this could prove to be a mental boost for roach + ivan!

Baranchyk throws too wide for me, and seems pretty reckless and is defensively lacking.

I either see Taylor winning wide on points and probably bashing Baranchyk up pretty badly in the process, or a late stoppage.

I think Taylor-campbell would be an interesting one down the line actually.
I'm glad i am not the only one thinking like that. Late stoppage for Taylor for me, he might get hit now and then but i think he will be teeing off on Baranchyk from about the 4th round once he realises how easy he is to hit.

Baranchyk looked mega at the weigh in. When he rehydrates, the guy is gonna be a super welter easily. Josh is going to have to use his jab and his feet to keep that dude off him :o
The odds are still around 7/1 for Taylor, I'm not sure it's that wide.

Baranchyk is the dark horse of this tournament and i wouldn't be surprised to see him winning though Taylor is, of course, the favourite.

Taylor gotta be very careful here, looks hyped up at the weigh in & might be in danger of believing his own hype, thinking he can just blast through this guy, who looks rock solid.

Apparently Ivan the terrible has been knocked over before though?

I’m not sure how good McGuigan really is,as a trainer, he seems to have joined quite late on with a number of his big name charges..Well if he is worth his salt he’s going to have to drill into Josh that he has to box and be careful tonight, go for a points win and then see how things pan out, maybe stepping it up later on.

If he goes toe to toe with this guy too early on, he could come unstuck: this looks a dangerous one

what a fantastic bill this is, and thank God nothing to do with match room, and boy does it show.

Josh didn't look great facially. Pale faced and dark around the eyes.

Does anyone have any information about the same day IBF weigh in for this fight?

Did Josh Taylor come in under whatever the limit is supposed to be for this next day weigh in?

Yes, I am imagining that as well, but in the world we live in with so much information on twitter is seems strange that someone has not confirmed exactly what happened at this weigh in that must have taken place today.

Don't have it for Taylor but Inoue and Rodriguez were both under, Rodriguez was the heavier man, neither guy was that close to the 10lb limit

DAZN are showing the full card.

For the UK, I think we’re just getting 1/2 finals. Shame. Sky could have put undercard on the Mix channel. It goes to waste. Or even Youtube.

In Australia we are also getting the undercard from 7pm UK time on Fox Sports. Seems odd that Sky in the UK would not show the undercard, maybe it is because this is not a Matchroom card. There are plenty of UK fighters on the undercard, so that decision by Sky not to show it seems even more strange.
