Re: WBSS Bantamweight (1/2 Final): Naoya Inoue vs. Emmanuel Rodriguez - May 18, 2019
the way i look at that, inoue was huge for those lower divisions, and so now hes more average for 118 rather then being a small bantam who is naturally lower

Re: WBSS Bantamweight (1/2 Final): Naoya Inoue vs. Emmanuel Rodriguez - May 18, 2019
Things got heated between Team Inoue and Team Rodriguez at Tuesday’s workout ahead of Saturday’s sensational WBSS semi-finals at the SSE Hydro; Naoya Inoue vs. Emmanuel Rodriguez and Josh Taylor vs Ivan Baranchyk.
A member of Rodriguez’s team pushed Inoue’s father and trainer, Shingo Inoue when he was taking photos of the Puerto Rican IBF titleholder who performed his training with renowned coach Freddie Roach.
“It was an open workout so naturally I was taking pictures and using the phone. A guy came over, after staring down at us from the ring, and said I couldn’t do it and pushed me aside. That was very ungentlemanlike,” said Shingo Inoue after his son’s workout.
“The two fighters who have actually trained for this that’s what we are here to see and who is the better fighter. Outside of the ring, nothing needs to be hostile.”
Tensions were running high, but Team Inoue is not going to use it as fuel in Saturday’s semi-final.
“I don’t think of those petty things and get emotional. It’s between Inoue and Rodriguez and that’s what they are here for. Let them work it out,” concluded The Ring Magazine’s ‘2018 Trainer of the Year’.
Team Rodriguez didn’t stay to watch Inoue’s workout, but the champion himself was in a good and talkative mood after his session. And he made it clear that he is in Scotland to make a statement.
“We are going to shut some mouths,” said Rodriguez referring to Inoue being called the favourite by press and boxing fans. “I am going to take it round by round and in the end, I will win either by KO or decision.”
Naoya Inoue didn’t see the incident with his father, but he was oozing self-confidence and fully focused on the task ahead of him.
“I am in great shape, I can’t wait for the fight. I am going to knockout Rodriguez on Saturday,” said the WBA champion. “I can’t predict the round, but I am going for the KO and it will happen sooner or later. I know what everyone is expecting from me.”

Definitely is, nice of the ring to attach their worthless trinket in the pot. Maybe some geeks can go lineal on it and prove how hardcore their fandom truly is.Onekrazyrican wrote: ↑03 May 2019, 10:47 With Tete out and Nonito already waiting at the other side of the bracket Id say Nery would be the only questionable issue. I see this fight as the tournament final anyway. Winner should be able to get past Nonito adding his name and the ring belt to his resume. There is a lot on the line in this fight.

With Tete still in it, would have still given us a #1 Bantamweight after the tourney but he dropped out.Onetimeonly wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 21:17 Definitely is, nice of the ring to attach their worthless trinket in the pot. The Ring have put their belt at stake though which is good. Tete’s loss. Missed out on some good money.

The ring belt isn't worth anything. Never made anyone any money. Shame he got hurt though.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 May 2019, 21:46 With Tete still in it, would have still given us a #1 Bantamweight after the tourney but he dropped out.

Still looks like a lot of tickets left..
https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/world-bo ... dro_artist
Many still available ringsied and upper tier.
Anyone in South Scotland or North of England should even be getting the cheaper tickets for this if affordable.
2 very good fights IMO. P4P superstar Nayou Inoue.
I don't think he'll dispatch Rodriguez as quick as he did McDonnell and Papayi~

The seriousness they have put in this camp is super intense. They trained at an undisclosed location and very protective of the whatever went on the fight plan. They said they saw Inoue's people recording and tried to stop it.
Inoue is a phenom. In 17 fights hes accomplished stuff worthy of HOF conversations but Manny is no pushover. He was a youth Olympic gold medalist who came up short in his summer Olympic qualifier to Jeyvier Cintron an accomplished two times Olympian. i like the way his team is approaching this fight with like a chip on their shoulder. If they were at least 130 pounders this would be a really big fight.

That last paragraph quote heats things up wonderfully. I am not doubting him, but Rodriguez looks serious too. Inoue will still probably stop him

Rodriguez is a good, solid fighter.
But it will take more than good and solid to derail Inoue.
I like the Japanese star within 5. And a 1st round stoppage shouldn't shock anyone anymore. Inoue has serious power and talent.

Sounds like a better strategy than trying to punch with him.
But Inoue is a versatile boxer. Not just a power puncher.
It's difficult to imagine Rodriguez finding a solution to the Monster nightmare.
Re: WBSS Bantamweight (1/2 Final): Naoya Inoue vs. Emmanuel Rodriguez - May 18, 2019
I am still not sure if Inoue is really so great or his opponents were too weak.
For the beginning, I would like to see him against Rigo.

It’s shame when we have to think like that. A boxer can go through a whole division and instead of praising the boxer, we say things like the opposition was weak even though most of them are former world champions, or we’ll say the division is/was weak.
Re: WBSS Bantamweight (1/2 Final): Naoya Inoue vs. Emmanuel Rodriguez - May 18, 2019
Shame or not, I think so. This is not his (Inoue's) fault, but competition at 118 is not so strong.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 16:05 It’s shame when we have to think like that. For me, LWW, WW, MW, LHW and HW are quite decent now. CW (without Usyk) might be competitive, too. There are two top class fighters at SFW (Davis and Berchelt) and if they move up, than LW will become very hot (with Lomachenko, T. Lopez, even R. Garcia).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 May 2019, 16:47 That’s like saying every division apart from maybe 1 or 2 are weak. Cuz there might be 2 highly rated boxers and the rest are not elite.
The other weight divisions are pretty weak (LMW might be some kind of the border-line). I hope you may agree with me ?
Re: WBSS Bantamweight (1/2 Final): Naoya Inoue vs. Emmanuel Rodriguez - May 18, 2019
118 has burnett (or did he move up), tete, nery, and inoue, the quality is fine, we just need to see these guys fight each other
it was gonna be like that untill burnetts injury and tete withdrawing. i think burn, tete, and inoue are with tr now? so maybe well see those anyway
