Looking at previous posts in this thread, the only one who didn't come right out and pick Joyce as the obvious winner was RedRyan and judging from his comment about Ustinov beating Rogan, I would say his "praise" for Ustinov, was clearly ironic.

Your "victory" would be like Ali proclaiming himself "The greatest" after beating up Jean-Pierre Coopman. True though it may be, It's better said after having just beaten a Frazier or a Foreman don't you agree?

For the record, from round two onwards, Joyce was defensively irresponsible whilst recklessly attacking Ustinov. He unsurprisingly met very little resistance en route to the stoppage.

Just a typical Joe Joyce performance basically. He was slightly more patient early, but quickly just started to overwhelm Ustinov with relentless pressure. Ustinov tried to load up with a few big shots here, and there, but was taking a lot of heavy punishment, and after a clean left hook in the 3rd he decided he'd taken enough punishment for one night.

The question is gonna be can Joyce take a big shot when he's faced with another big puncher? He obviously can hit, and has a steady pressure, and pretty decent stamina it would appear. He's obviously not particularly fast or defensively skilled so he's gonna have to be double tough.

Well it's only 1 fight. It'd be time before you really saw any improvements. It's also hard to see if there's any noticeable improvement if he's not really being tested in the first place. He just keeps bludgeoning people to defeat. He's yet to be truly tested yet, but it'll happen pretty soon I'd imagine.

A guy like Hunter would expose the shvt out of Joyce. Hopefully Booth will be able to find something to improve his defense at least.

I agree. I wouldn't doubt that Ajagba could beat him now. He looked that bad. When he tries to punch straight, he pushes. His body and arms seem out of synch from one another, and of course, he's slow as molasses and easy to hit.
