Sissified boxing "fans" who cannot bring themselves to root for a major trash-talker like Wilder can always root for this flaming fairy. His real name was not sissified enough so he changed it to: Machiavelli Farrakhan Siberius

Good to see that most guys who participated in the poll can still root for Wilder.

Somehow common sense has prevailed and not many are really mortified by Wilder's off-the-cuff trash talk.

And let's be real. Those who say that they can't root for him now probably never did before anyways. Their view of him hasn't really changed.

Good point!! Lots of folks rooting against Wilder are just looking for one more reason to justify their dislike of Deontay. What "kills" me though (pun intended) is the people who gave Tyson a pass for doing & saying crap that was as bad or worse than what Wilder says & does now, but they still get "offended" at Wilder's trash-talk!!

How can you not root for the most exciting puncher in boxing?

Wilder was merciful tonight. Just 1 shot. No drawn out beating.

I remember folks reacted by wanting Lewis to beat the crap out of him. But we knew Tyson was just plain crazy.

I agree, he sounded like an idiot. I agree, he's fun to watch, but I will never root for him. Never !
The attempts to compare Wilder's and Tyson's personalities is funny; Wilder is dull and empty, Tyson sounds like Shakespeare, comparing to Wilder.

Tyson actually committed atrocities. Wilder said something that upset you.

Tyson DID get tons of crap back then. The only ones giving him a pass now are the ones here at Current Scene who make excuses for Tyson and say what he said & did back then wasnt as bad as Wilder's trash-talk now {like the nutcase that says Wilder murdered that costumed-character on that TV show.)

Yes.

His trash talk is in poor taste, but it's just to hype a boring fight that no one wanted to see. I don't think he really wants to kill anybody in the ring. He's just trying to get publicity for himself and the event. Causing controversy seems to have worked.

I remember Mike Tyson's rant about eating Lennox's children or saying if Ruddock doesn't die it doesn't count. That got me hyped up for those fights as a kid. I don't expect good taste in a sport where people knock each other unconscious.
