I fully agree!! I expect a fight close enough that it could come down to who has the home-turf crowd behind him.

I expect that majority will tell I am a fool, but (excluding HW) this fight is #2 on my wish-list. The #1 is Crawford vs. Spence.
I like Prograis more than Taylor (judges, Postol fight) but, this is literally 50/50 type of fight.

I won't call it 50/50, I see it about 60/40 for Prog, cause he seems to be more special.

I saw flaws in Taylors game, i did not saw it in Prograis. But Taylor fought better oponents. Going in this with Taylor, but it is 50/50 fight

I rare both men highly, it is almost impossible to predict who will win as I don't believe we have seen the best of either fighter yet.

Both are improving, both seem to relish a challenge, so maybe they are going to bring the best out of each other.

Really looking forward to this one, the winner really does have to be in the p4p discussions.

Great fight, i have followed both for some time...
Regis picks his shots wisely, he waists no effort at all and makes every shot count.
Josh is a great boxer, he belongs at this level but i feel he will be made to work well of gear when gets in with Regis .

I'm going for Prograis to win this one with power and accuracy, move little to gain large.

Truly great fight!

Wow...I just googled that & it was confirmed!!

https://www.boxingnews24.com/2019/08/re ... bss-final/
According to a statement from DiBella, there were missed deadlines for money to be paid for Prograis’ purse by the WBSS tournament organizers. The lawsuit was filed in the New Jersey district court.

WBA 140 pound champion Prograis (24-0, 20 KOs) and IBF light welterweight champion Taylor (15-0, 12 KOs) were supposed to be fighting each other in the World Boxing Super Series final in October in a unification match.

Prograis and DiBella Entertainment’s statement:

“Today in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, Regis Prograis and DiBella Entertainment, Inc. filed for a declaratory judgment that Comosa AG, the owner of the World Boxing Super Series, has breached its contractual obligations to Prograis and DBE. Prograis and DBE further informed Comosa that Prograis is withdrawing from the WBSS, effective immediately.

“There is no one more disappointed by this turn of events than Regis Prograis, who has expressed his desire to unify the super lightweight division on a number of occasions. Comosa was provided every opportunity to see the WBSS to conclusion but it failed at every turn to meet its obligations to the contracted fighters. This action was commenced only after Prograis and DBE determined, as a result of Comosa’s conduct, that his participation in this venture was no longer possible.”

WBSS booked one weight class too many. Can't afford to pay the fighters, and now they've f*cked over all involved.

I knew it was a mistake when they did Cruiserweight again for no good reason.

I don't know all the details but maybe Prograis team prefer fighting Broner for more money. Which would be an easier fight for Prograis than Taylor would be. Last few days Progaris and Broner been jawing at each other in the media and Broner talking about coming down to 140.

Since Prograis has NOT been paid money he's already owed by WBSS then fighting for a reliable promoter would make sense, regardless of the difficulty of the opponent!! If WBSS does the proper thing and pays Prograis what he is owed, quite possibly Regis will drop the lawsuit and re-enter the WBSS tourney.

Well, if everyone's been f@cked over they've done well to make it to the finals , with one of the finals already scheduled. Baranchyk complained but then ended up figting, maybe they'll work it out.

There have been good CW matches TBF

I was a big fan of the wbss idea but nów i hope it's the last edition. Sauerland fcuked it up Just like they fcuked up the German scene add to that unfair judges and referees which resulted in huge scandal, events sponsored by state, weird choices of fights localizations, incompetence in selling the broadcasting rights, not paying the fighters on time, long break between the next rounds of the tournament... The idea was great but they have fcuked it up
