Wilder is 33 and AJ is 29. The fight needs to happen this year! No more A/Z side b.s! No more marinating to max. the profit b.s!

Fury, Wilder and AJ fight in about the same time against stiffs. Of course, Fury and AJ will have easy nights too. That's the perfect moment to make the fight with someone of them against some of the remaining two. Just an absolutely perfect moment. But Wilder's post-fight ring interview on this subject only caused frustration. As well as Ortiz hanging out there. If Wilder fights Ortiz, I don't think, that AJ will fight Fury, it's too much risk with a lesser reward for Joshua. Wilder-Fury II and Wilder AJ are the most probable matchups for now.

Yes but it should happen this year. If AJ/his team somehow plans to wait Wilder to be 35/36 y/o to have an advantage then it's a cowardly move.DrDuke wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 04:25 Fury, Wilder and AJ fight in about the same time against stiffs. Who knows, what they really want. AJ team is the worst out of all three teams in terms of negotiations. They always find some sh*t, that spoils everything. Actuially, the fact, that Fury and Wilder has already fought, proves a lot here.apollo creed wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 07:25 Yes but it should happen this year. Hearn should offer 55/45, Wilder should accept. That's it.

Yeah it proves Wilder thought Fury was a couch-potato he could blast senseless without raising a sweat and Fury thought Wilder was a crap boxer with a big punch who wouldn't be skilled enough to lay a glove on him. Both were very much mistaken.
AJ's team are really terrible making record breaking offers to all the top guys. What a despicable bunch of bastards they are.
Re: No more other cannon fodder opponents for DW and AJ! Fight needs to happen this year or it's gonna fade away!
I hope Hearn will not be too greedy.
Re: No more other cannon fodder opponents for DW and AJ! Fight needs to happen this year or it's gonna fade away!
Well, that was a factor too. However, them both seemed ready to fight again, but Fury's recent deal with Arum made the situatiom worse, as Arum decided to marinate the fight.candyslim wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 08:06 Yeah it proves Wilder thought Fury was a couch-potato he could blast senseless without raising a sweat and Fury thought Wilder was a crap boxer with a big punch who wouldn't be skilled enough to lay a glove on him. Exactly. Can't blame Hearn for that. People seem to forget that without the Joshuamania sweeping the UK, Wilder and Fury would still be looking at a US$ 5m purse as nothing but pie in the sky.
Wilder stands to make ten or fifteen times what he (would have) got for fighting Povetkin for taking the biggest risk of his boxing life.
Joshua stands to make double maybe three times what he got for fighting Povetkin for taking the biggest risk of his boxing life.
But Hearn/ Joshua are being greedy ???.
Personally I don't give a sh1t what they get paid just make the ferkin fight FFS but all this tolerance and understanding toward Wilder holding out for 50/50, turning down US$ 120m, and putting equal blame on Team Joshua, only encourages Team Wilder to procrastinate, prevaricate and hold out for more instead of signing the contract. If his fans got on his back it might be a shorter wait.

Very true but as a fan I'm not interested of how much money they could make or the splits. I want to see this fight as both are still at the top of their game.candyslim wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 08:44 Exactly. Can't blame Hearn for that. BTW, the flat fee offers on the top level are not fair.
Re: No more other cannon fodder opponents for DW and AJ! Fight needs to happen this year or it's gonna fade away!
@AC: That is what I said but if Wilder's high profile fans like Nestor Gibbs, Blue-blood sports, Dontay's Boxing Nation, and the LGBT or whatever TF they call themselves, among others, told Team Wilder "Stop making excuses. Take the enormous sum on offer and stop f*cking about", then we might have seen the unification already.
It's no good Joshua fans telling him, he doesn't give sh1t what they think - do Wilder fans want the fight or not?

But since the money goes to PBC/Wilder and not you, they may have a different view of what's fair.
Never tell a stranger what salary they should accept.

Re: No more other cannon fodder opponents for DW and AJ! Fight needs to happen this year or it's gonna fade away!
It is what it is but Wilder ain't doing the right thing if he acts like a prima donna. He should accept the offer of AJ. At the end of the day AJ is one of the biggest cash-cows of boxing and he also has three major belts. Fight in UK on O2 or Wembley.
Re: No more other cannon fodder opponents for DW and AJ! Fight needs to happen this year or it's gonna fade away!
With the exception of a Fury win, Wilder is never going to be more financially marketable than he is right now.
Even if he chins another contender in one round, it won’t raise his stock that much, been there done that.
AJ will gain more popularity in the US if he beats Ruiz in impressive fashion, but every time he fights he has to do more than just win, which creates a potentially detrimental situation.
I agree. December is going to be the best time ever for this fight.

I expect Wilder to fight Ortiz end of this year
Kownacki early next
Perhaps at that point WBC may even make Whyte their mandatory, and when that happens I fully expect the Joshua fight to finally be made for late 2020
I will be very happy if things turn out differently
In the mean time I suspect Joshua will face off against Pulev, followed by Usyk.
Who knows what Fury will get up to, maybe that Whyte fight will get made, maybe Fury will fight the carcass of Ortiz or Pulev

I can't see AJ being all that willing to fight Fury. He wants Wilder because he perceives him to be the realistic win. However, I think either man beats AJ because they are either too damn unorthodox (Fury) or too damn powerful (Wilder) and both are faster than AJ. Hearn will be killing his "golden goose" if he allows either fight to happen. So expect matches w/ Whyte (again) or Usyk or some other heavyweight who won't post no real problem. They were smart to go after the most belts, which will give any and all excuses not to make the real fights because they'll always claim mandatory obligations.

The WBC will make Whyte their mandatory when Dillian is safely dead.Finkel wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 11:25 I expect Wilder to fight Ortiz end of this year

If that man can't be their mandatory now, I doubt he ever will be.
