I have the feeling this is gonna be a long wbo reign for BJS at smw! Yildirim, Fielding, Chudinov, Ryder, Truax and maybe Hart at best for BJS. Although Hart may be his no. 1 mandatory. ![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)

Smith should be all over it. Calling him out left, right and centre.
Would be a sell in the UK and Smith would beat him easily, adding another belt to his collection.

I'd pay to see Saunders get a beating from Smith, that would make my daylillywhite14 wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 03:49 Smith should be all over it. Calling him out left, right and centre.

Hopefully you're wrong. Unifications will be very interesting, but such bouts are not easy to make today.apollo creed wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 03:45 I have the feeling this is gonna be a long wbo reign for BJS at smw! Saunders will face those fighters affiliated with ESPN & BT, such as the stables of Top Rank, Queensberry and Main Events, or alternatively he’ll be sharing the ring with network/promotional free agents.apollo creed wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 03:45 I have the feeling this is gonna be a long wbo reign for BJS at smw! I doubt we’ll see Billy Joe facing anyone linked to DAZN or the PBC, unless they’re mandatories.
Basically, he’ll enjoy a similar WBO 168lbs title reign that his predecessor (Zurdo) had.

Beside that a fighter equally needs to have dedication and work ethic which I doubt BJS has. He's indeed a good boxer but the skills are getting sharpen when you fight top oppositon and more than 1 or 2 times per year. Eubank Jr is not the same fighter that he was in 2014.kbackup408 wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 04:21 Jr can't lace BJS boots - purely on boxing SKILL Billy does a number on him!

You may be right. So old Abraham, Bursak, Karpency and maybe Hart should get in line for BJS.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 04:26 Saunders will face those fighters affiliated with ESPN & BT, such as the stables of Top Rank, Queensberry and Main Events, or alternatively he’ll be sharing the ring with network/promotional free agents.

To be fair, Saunders had previously signed-up to face Canelo, Golovkin and Eubank Jr., but they all “lost their pen!” or had some other dodgy excuse.apollo creed wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 04:34 You may be right. So old Abraham, Bursak, Karpency and maybe Hart should get in line for BJS.![]()
If Saunders doesn’t receive an opportunity to face any big names, it’ll mainly be due to political barriers, but partly because other fighters don’t want to face someone as stylistically awkward and extremely high-risk/low-return as he is.
Unfortunately for the Billy Joe, he’ll be criticised for not facing fighters that won’t or can’t face him.

Did anyone actually watch that last night? Just when you thought a BJS fight couldn't get anymore boring...
Just happy to dance and skip to a win, making no attempt to hurt or stop the opponent. He's got the belt and he's welcome to it.
That's not boxing, that's shadow boxing.
Good amateur stuff.

It was a terrible fight, one had no idea and the other had no motivation for a stoppage,i turned over to this garbage just after watching Josh Taylor, now that was a fight.Thomastearns wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 05:30 Did anyone actually watch that last night? GTFOH! BJS went life and death with the mighty Artur Akavov. Very 'extremely high-risk'.
So the elite of the mw division like GGG, Canelo and Jacobs fought each other and BJS somehow discourage them to fight him. lol BJS = new version of Sturm.

That guy was a straight up boxing bag with no will to win.Thomastearns wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 05:30 Did anyone actually watch that last night? Just when you thought a BJS fight couldn't get anymore boring...

In WBO rankings lately easiest 2 knockovers -apollo creed wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 03:45 I have the feeling this is gonna be a long wbo reign for BJS at smw! Yildirim, Fielding, Chudinov, Ryder, Truax and maybe Hart at best for BJS. Although Hart may be his no. 1 mandatory.![]()
Zac Dunn (who’s loss came to David Brophy)
Kis - Hungarian who’s 13-0-2
Both in top 15 of your looking for easiest.
Re: Now that BJS won that smw wbo strap, how many stiffs he is gonna fight to keep it safe?
Is the thread title not a little unfair given BJS' boxing master-class against LeMieux in his backyard, and the fact he was lined up to fight Jacobs before he blotted his copybook? It's not the first time he has signed to fight the top guys either and have it come to nowt.
Having said that I didn't watch his soporific display last night so I'm probably not feeling as impatient with him as those of you who did.

Are you claiming that I’m wrong about Saunders signing contracts to face the likes of Canelo and GGG, but it was those A-sides that subsequently rejected the bouts?apollo creed wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 07:17![]()

Put the links with the media talks of both sides and with BJS showing that signed contract. Also the official rejections/excuses of those A-sides to not fight BJS! I challenge you to come with some irrefutable solid facts!

Why do you feel the need to be challenged on everything?Enlightened-One wrote: ↑19 May 2019, 09:01 Are you claiming that I’m wrong about Saunders signing contracts to face the likes of Canelo and GGG, but it was those A-sides that subsequently rejected the bouts?

There is no evidence of bjs signing any deal. It's that simple.

Re: Now that BJS won that smw wbo strap, how many stiffs he is gonna fight to keep it safe?
To be fair, it was common knowledge that GGG vs BJS was a done deal for Kazakhstan, about 3 before the first Canelo fight. Canelo's team demanded Golovkin cancel the fight, to give more time for promotion, or they wouldn't let Canelo fight him. Golovkin's side cancelled the Saunders fight, but even they never claimed Saunders backed out.
There were talks of a Saunders vs Canelo fight on a few occasions, but I don't know the details off the top of my head.
