What will Saunders do next?

Post by JimStone »

Assuming he can avoid bans, injuries and changes of trainer what do him and Frank do next?

Hopefully tries a unification. After all other options are pretty pointless. Saunders has wasted a lot of time in his career. He gotta go for big fights, while he can compete in them.

Big fight wise what is there?

Smith
Eubank
Canelo
Jacobs
GGG

All these would be big fights but I see them as difficult to male.
Perhaps he can give Rocky Fielding a shot, or Paul Smith!

Really depends on Warren - hopefully a title fight at middleweight or unification at 168., but will probably end up making a defence against someone average.

This fight is the first time I saw Saunders wobbled - sure he was a bit square and recovered reasonably quickly, but I wonder if his punch resistance is as good as it was? I remember him taking some lumps off Eubank and Lee without budging

Easy(ish) defence, I hear Martin Murray has decided against retirement.....

I imagine he will then try and get Eubank Jr in for a rematch, even though he already beat him, which is a little backwards.

After that he will probably get stripped or banned for something or other and rebuild again.

Yeah; Murray, Eubank Jnr, then spitting in a brasses face and posting it to Instagram seems like he most likely course of action.

Bjs gets some stick on here. Sticking only to boxing, he’s brilliant.

He is indeed but certainly 'one for the purists'. He'll never be a-side in a ppv imo.

I'd say he is the most naturally gifted British fighter of this generation by quite some way.

Just a shame he is a bit of a douche.

What will Saunders do next? Probably defend against a low end WBO ranked contender like Mate Kis or someone.

I do hope that doesn’t happen and that we get to see him in a meaningful fight against a live contender. There’s no denying his talent but he really does need to kick on.

Can't see BJS fighting Smith. He's not really a supermiddle and smith is huge at the weight. Saunders engine would be running low around half way then he'd be bang in trouble. I hope he goes back to middle and they can make the Caneo fight

Eubank Jnr was mentioned for Murray - ITV PPV in July.

Probably go on the piss, film him self picking on someone vulnerable, get fined for it, say sorry and then defend against the number 5 SM in san Moreno this time next year.

Honestly I just don't care what he does next. In an ideal world I would say retire from boxing but until that time I will just consider the WBO Super Middle belt dead.

I cannot wait to see him get spanked due to his out of the ring antics and attitude. So stupid, he does not realise how bad his behaviour is. But professionally, he is hugely skilled and gifted. I love the move he makes when he lands a couple shots, steps off to his right and pushes on the back of their left shoulder to leave them unable to throw or get set. Such a simple move, but so effective and smacks of old school skills.

Shame we never got to see him against Andrade. Would have found out how brilliant he actually is.

Anyone else think too much is made of the David Lemieux win?

It was convincing, but who the fck is David Lemieux anyway? When he got spanked by Marco Antonio Rubio everyone was saying he was exposed, a big hitter without enough skills or stamina. Sure he has turned out to be better than that, but not vastly.

He boxed very well, but yeah Lemieux is extremely limited outside of his punching power.

also totally over the top to call him brilliant

floyd mayweather was brilliant

bjs good no doubt, but he has a bunch of fights he only barely won vs hardly amazing opposition. easily couldve lost that decision to akakov (dominated by andrade), beat ryder by only 1-2 (ryder then lost to rocky, blackwell, and arnfield) and only won a sd vs eubank (groves beat him way better), beat lee just on the kds and still only by md. and right before his lemieux fight that got ppl overrating him he had like a 7-4-1 fight vs willie monroe, then some totally mediocre rando rocked him to his boots last night

lol brilliant? hardly, weird theres such a consensus on that, hes good for sure but not a p4p boxer

The only way a defence against against Murray would be interesting is if the loser is euthanised by Ron Macintosh word injection in the ring afterwards.
Jeez that’s a predictable fight. :brick:

I want to see him box Canelo’s ears off for 12 rounds and then KTFO brutally with seconds remaining.
Or.., better still get scandalously robbed on the cards.
