Yeh. The guy he fought in the final reserve, that was a piss poor performance.

That’s the one. :TU:

Vlasov > Briedis > Dorts/Tabiti

Not bad at all if he wins.

Glowacki is Not Impressed By Briedis' Last Two Outings

How has the training ahead of the semi-final been going?

“Everything is going great and according to our plan. We had a camp in Spain, then we moved to the UK for sparing sessions and now we're finishing our preparations in Warsaw.”

What do you think of your opponent Briedis?

“Briedis is a great, strong and skilled boxer, but he didn't impress me too much in his last two fights. He was much better against Usyk or Huck. I first met Mairis in 2010 - he trained in our gym in Warsaw and he even had a fight on our event. He's a nice guy and a world-class fighter.”

Do you have a message for him?

“Mairis, prepare for war, Glowka is coming. I'm going to win the Ali Trophy!”

What can the fans in Riga expect to see from you?

“Everybody who watched my fights knows I always fight hard from the first to the final bell. Even if I'm down on the scorecards like against Huck I still believe in myself and never give up. ‘It's worth believing’ - this is my motto!”

Do you expect to see a lot of Polish fans in Riga?

“I know that a lot of my fans are going to Riga. Of course, Mairis will have much more fans in the arena, but I'm sure you will hear ‘Polska, Polska’ during our fight.”

What is your dream scenario for the fight?

“I can’t tell you everything right now, but I can reveal the name of the winner - it's Krzysztof G?owacki. I have a great trainer, Fiodor Lapin, we're working on plan A, B, C and so on ... So I'll be ready for every possible scenario, also the dream one.”

Have you been seeing or following the other divisions in the WBSS?

“Not too much. I have a huge challenge before me, so I'm focused on it. Mairis Briedis is the guy, I watch and follow right now.”

Who do you think you will face in the final?

“Yunier Dorticos beat my compatriot Mateusz Masternak in the quarter-final, so it would be nice if I could avenge the loss, but frankly speaking, I don't really care, I can fight Dorticos, I can fight Tabiti. Let the best man win in their semi-final, because like i said, right now full focus on Mairis Briedis and it is going to be a war!”

Główka goes to Riga next week, he had some decent sparrings with 13-0 Polish Adam Balski, 16-0 British Jack Massey, 14-7 Czech Vaclav Pejsar, 8-2 Ukrainian Stanislav Kutin and 10-32-1 Russian Sergey Beloshapkin.

There are rumours that he looks very good, very sharp on sparrings, just like before the Huck fight. He had no injuries no health issues during the camp, which is not always the case, he was training in Benidorm, Spain (in the gym and in the mountains), in the UK and just finishes his camp in Warsaw.

Nah, what you said makes sense. Now the WBC can offer up Glowacki/Breidis as for the WBC CW belt. Makes perfect sense.

Wasn’t that gonna be for the WBO Interim belt? Or was that the other semi final?

the initial plan was for WBO interim and WBC diamond. now it's WBO interim and probably WBC world.

If the WBC is at stake, I doubt the WBO will have it for their Interim.

Only the WBC like having their Interim belt on the line along with other world titles. There way of forcing unifications.

We’ll have to see.

Hopefully it will be both. Then the final will have 2 belts at stake.

Don’t get why they made Usyk ‘champion in recess’.. doubt he’ll return to the CW. He has nothing to prove. Although some want him to have a more convincing win over Briedis.

Who knows, they may meet at HW in a couple of years.

Glowacki holds the WBO interim, he won it in Vlasov fight, i doubt that they will strip him off this belt but we'll see.

when he was knocked down vs Huck his reaction was very good and he was totally ok next round, same when he was knocked down by Radchenko, Usyk landed some terrific punches (like in the video below, it starts exactly when Usyk lands his best punches) and didn't hurt him. Głowacki's chin is at least good, imo.

I'm sure they'll up it to full. Nice sanctioning fees and a bigger fight than they will find for the vacant belt.

Just seen this.

Now he just has to vacate the IBF. Surprised they haven’t stripped him or ordered him to fight someone. Lol

We will find out on the 15th. Briedis tends to fight to the level of his comp.

Possibly the best boxing match of a darn good weekend. :OhYes:
