Masayuki Ito vs Jamel Herring
Ito defends his WBO Super Featherweight title this weekend against Herring live on BT, at least I think he does, BT advertised it on the Saunders card last week but I'm sure I read something before about the fight being called off and its not on boxrec and its not on the Virgin planner but as far as I'm aware it is on as ESPN ran a story 10 hours ago about the fight so hopefully its not cancelled
I seen Ito beat Christopher Diaz to win the vacant title, decked him and won wide on the cards when he was the underdog, Diaz was being pushed for the top but Ito bullied him and deserved his win, Ito made 1 defence against the unbeaten Russian Chuprakov who he stopped in 7, ive seen Herring a few times, I remember Shafikov dominating him before stopping him in the last a few years back, pretty sure Herring's a former marine so is uber fit despite getting on a bit, he's coming off a points win over Dos Santos who's a bit of a serial loser these days
Havent seen too much of either man especially Ito but he bullied Diaz and Herring was bullied by Shafikov so going on that logic I'm expecting Ito to be too hot to handle for Herring and I think he'll get to him in the 2nd half of the fight

It's still showing on the online BT Sport TV guide (3am on BT Sport 1) so hopefully it's going ahead.

I think the betting lines opened wrong on this. They either had the odds the wrong way round or maybe made a mistake about Ito being Japanese and travelling? The naughty odds will be long gone now.
Either way it’s a good fight, I’ll be watching. Ito should outwork him.

Definitely not off :)
Re: Masayuki Ito vs Jamel Herring
Just read that the WBO President has blocked the fight as Jamel Herring is not ranked by the WBO. Not sure if the fight may still be on but it will not be for the title. I think it will be called off. Hope I'm wrong.

Valcarcel said it was off before it was officially on, one would almost think the WBO got a nice payment to rank Herring after Arum stated his intention to make the bout...
...Strangely Ito started as the 13/8 under-dog around midnight, he's been backed into being the favourite already...Paddy Power made a booboo!

It's not on the BT listings. It was yesterday, but it's gone ( I can't see it any way).

Re: Masayuki Ito vs Jamel Herring
Given how they badly their line got smashed I'm not surprise
Top Rank site says its on
https://www.toprank.com/all-events/may- ... d-on-espn/
It was giving interviews yesterday about it (though he has changed his Japanese gym affiliation which is odd so close to a big fight)
Re: Masayuki Ito vs Jamel Herring
There is something really crooked and shady about this fight. If Ito has any sense he should pull out or he is going to get screwed over, all the signs are there .
