He had like 2 times that against duhaupas. His views are decreasing.

Hmm...that seems odd. I would think he's as over now as ever, but I guess not.

I guess your right. Anything that gives boxing a boost in the US is not a bad thing.

Pretty sure the Duhaupas fight was on NBC which is available in over 100m homes?

That peaked 3m viewers.

Even on Showtime this isn't a big number for him.

He might be, I just dropped HBO and Showtime today. I'm sure a lot of fans did. Quite easy to stream, rarely good cards and boxing does suck right now.

The only other person doing similar or better numbers on Showtime is Mikey Garcia.

Even Spence ain’t avg that much.

I was talking about wilder. This isn't his highest rating on Showtime.

Wasn't the Duhaupus fight on over the air network television, and not premium cable?

That would account for the greater viewership.

Yeah, that's what I think.

Either NBC or FOX network. Their viewership greatly exceeds SHOWTIME's.

It’s his 3rd highest on Showtime after

Ortiz
Stiverne I

Let’s not forget those about went more than 1 round.

So 990k tuned in to round 1, do you not reckon it would have picked up had it gone a few more rounds?

No such thing, but yes being on a basic package would account for more views, but how many years ago against a less known fighter? He's no more popular now than he was then. Boxing is to such a low now that is diehard fans know it sucks.

Maybe a little, nothing substantial unless it's a war.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find figures for Russell-Martínez yet.

Is 900k on cable considered good on that side of the pond then? My first reaction on seeing the numbers, with 6k less than capacity in the venue (after freebies as well, apparently), and employing a company to move people forwards to make it look more full on TV, was that the event was a bit of a flop in corporate terms.

Showtime very rarely are hitting 1m. I think it’s a good number. Thing is, a lot of people steam Showtime as well. That including, I believe it did hit over 1m.

I just don’t think many people still have Showtime, let’s say compared to a year ago. Some of the same fighters on Showtime are appearing on Fox and all doing nearly or above 2m viewers.

It’s not the boxers, it’s the channel.

That's still shit. When I was a kid Larry Holmes wasn't popular, he pulled 46 million against Ernie shavers.

And a popular guy, Muhammad Ali, attracted an estimated 90 million US viewers the night he became the first 3 time heavyweight champion by defeating Leon Spinks.

That fight was televised live on ABC.

Out with super fights - it’s hard shift to flog tickets.

Even AJ card at Madison as some left - that would sell in 15-20 minutes in UK.

Good one amigo!!

Why would you expect that AJ's national hero status would transfer to another country?

Even in Europe, Joshua will never be close to being as popular as he is in the UK. One of the few recent fighters whose popularity has transcended national borders has been Manny Pacquiao, whose global draw is rare among today's fighters..

i think a lot of ppl have said breazeale is crappy for a while, not just suddenly after the weekend. i recall seeing it on forums for a long time, since he arguably got a lucky decision vs kassi at least. the reality is though he was a legit top 10 fighter still
