If Ruiz is affiliated with Haymon will he be there in any capacity. The principals for the mega fight could sit down and discuss business.

Does Al ever attend fights? Events?marvelous marv wrote: ↑28 May 2019, 18:23 If Ruiz is affiliated with Haymon will he be there in any capacity. The principals for the mega fight could sit down and discuss business.
Ruiz ain’t exactly the biggest name that Al advisors. Probably 20 boxers of not more in front. 9

I guess I always assumed he was around behind the scenes, but not in public view.

Ruiz is a better fighter than people give credit for. People discredit him because of his sloppy appearance. He has good, borderline very good boxing skills. His problem in this fight is, of course, politics on top of Joshua being a tank of a fighter. Hard to imagine Ruiz hitting hard enough or getting the benefit of the doubt in enough close rounds to actually take a decision against the cash cow Joshua.

CHRIS ALGIERI - "First I want to thank Eddie Hearn and Matchroom boxing for putting on this amazing event as well as my promoter Joe DeGuardia, Star Boxing..."
"This is a huge opportunity. This is exactly why I came back to the sport, I want to be a world champion. This fight with Tommy Coyle puts me back in that position."
"I am feeling great; this training camp has been fantastic. I have an opponent in Tommy Coyle that gets me excited to go out there."
"On Saturday night I am looking forward to putting on a great show, coming out with a victory, and moving forward."
TOMMY COYLE - "I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be fighting at the mecca of boxing, which is Madison Square Garden."
"It's a huge opportunity for me, to go on and do something that I probably never thought would happen in my career."
"Saturday night I am going to go in there and shine like a diamond ... I have really improved as a fighter and I am really coming into my own now."
MATCHROOM PROMOTER EDDIE HEARN - "Tommy gets the chance to be in this fight, and completely flip his career on its head."
"I think the winner of this fight has to go on and have the chance to challenge for a world title at 140 lbs."
"This is a fight that [Joe DeGuardia] and I have spoken about for a while and can take Chris back to challenging for a world title."

let's face it - fat Andy is a no hoper. the belts will stay at slick Eddie's stable. i doubt that it gonna be competitive - i expect Ruiz to be knocked out in 3 or 4.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. - June 1, 2019
Yes ! I can imagine Andy as a very decent CW, but, obviously he lacks the discipline. His chances against Joshua are something about zero.dagilechia wrote: ↑30 May 2019, 14:37 let's face it - fat Andy is a no hoper. the belts will stay at slick Eddie's stable. i doubt that it gonna be competitive - i expect Ruiz to be knocked out in 3 or 4.

If Ruiz goes past 4 rounds, are you gonna call Ruiz good or Joshua shît?dagilechia wrote: ↑30 May 2019, 14:37 let's face it - fat Andy is a no hoper. the belts will stay at slick Eddie's stable. i doubt that it gonna be competitive - i expect Ruiz to be knocked out in 3 or 4.

i'll say that i was wrong (not the first time), that's it. if Ruiz will be good i'll tell that, but going past 4 rounds doesn't automatically mean that he's good. I do not expect Joshua to be śhit, he will probably look very good in this fight.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑30 May 2019, 15:09 If Ruiz goes past 4 rounds, are you gonna call Ruiz good or Joshua shît?

Am I the only one who sees some danger for AJ in this fight?

He's got the puncher's chance i suppose, but i don't see it. What top guy has Ruiz ever beat? Nobody that's who. One fourth of the people on this poll think Ruiz will win. I don't see it. I pick Joshua by KO in round 4.

I like Andy and always have.
Re: Anthony Joshua vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. - June 1, 2019
Joshua doesn't tend to find it easy fighting shorter guys. Look at the trouble he had with Povetkin and previously Takam. I expect him to win but I don't think it will be easy. Ruiz is a good fighter who has proved himself to be on the level of Joe Parker who was the only man to take AJ the full 12 rounds.
Ruiz will make himself small, difficult to tag clean, and will be doing his best to swarm Joshua. I think he would have given AJ a lot more trouble a year ago, I guess a lot depends on how much AJ has learned from fighting Takam and Povetkin.
