I wasn't expecting huge 50/50 fights but I thought he'd have announced the brit fighters a while back and given them fringe top 10 opponents in the hope a few more tickets would be sold to Brit fans. As they must need this to sell out and I'd have thought sooner the better, so as to make a statement of what a draw Joshua is for any future negotiations.
Hearn said the card will be full of UK/IRE vs. USA.

So Smith and Brook are fighting US boxers.

Instead its on an undercard and yet hearn craps on about hometown advantage being huge and important.
It's a shame that Dublin has been neglected and lost a lot of big boxing nights over the last few years. Taylor could have filled out the o2 easily.

There will come a time when she can call the shots. If she wins this fight, she holds all the cards. Persoon insisted on a neutral venue before signing up, that's why it isn't in the UK.

No. Hearn has stated he doubts Taylor will ever headline a card in Ireland. Her manager said so too, this year.

Hmmm, OK.
There was talk of her doing a title fight down the track in Ireland, it was Eddie promising  that was a couple of years ago. Wait and see. If she gets all 4 belts, I think she can fight where she wants. Also, if she loses a few times... She might need home support to put bums on seats.

Taylor could fight a nobody and fill out stadiums in Dublin. She could probably even fill out Croke Park. The powers that be have blocked major boxing events from happening in Dublin ever since the horrific scenes at the weight in of a boxing event years ago. I guess they are scared of that happening again but good policing on the night would prevent that and would give the irish public some big fight nights

That's surprising. The WBC World Lightweight Champion who Katie Taylor is fighting isn't even a real full time professional. She's a full time policewoman.

The talent pool in women’s boxing is poor.

No sh*t Sherlock

What I mean is, why take the time to open at thread which holds no interest to you, just to comment that it holds no interest to you? Seems easier to just ignore something that doesn't interest you.

Like I say, no biggie. Just always puzzled me

Yeah, I know

It'd be like me heading over to the Aus forum and commenting 'I have no interest in this fight' in various threads  Just seems a bit odd

tbf if womens fights are now getting regularly put on british/british based cards then not being interested in womens fights is relevant

Nothing at all. Unfortunately this fight might ending up being the best on the card :-?
