..there's no one else to blame, Fury is a loose cannon..Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 May 2019, 08:47 TBF, it's all Fury's fault. He wanted to stay in the eyes of the media, always chatting beans, trying to catch headlines, announced retirements one day and saying he wanted to be a doctor the next. He caused it himself.
Had he stayed quiet, not mentioned retirement, no one would be arguing today.
Let's be honest, when he DID announce his retirement, did anyone really believe he wasn't going to fight again?

Muhammad Ali claimed he was the 'people's champion' whilst Frazier held the belts.SenorPipino wrote: ↑03 May 2019, 08:10 Fury announced his retirement in a snit after his escapade with failed drug tests.
Once you've officially announced that you're quitting, you also renounce your claim to the lineal title.
Just because he returned, doesn't mean Fury can reclaim it. He has to earn it back.
Ali retired in early 1970 and said his belts belonged to the winner of the upcoming Frazier-Ellis fight. That's why Ali was considered the challenger when he faced Frazier in 1971.
If Lennox Lewis came back, is he the lineal champion? No. He too retired and renounced his claim.
But if you somehow believe that Fury is still the lineal champion, then Lewis would deserve the same recognition if he unretired tomorrow.
How is it possible that there would be 2?
In my view that's a more desirable accolade than the so called lineal champion.
But ultimately, including exhibition bouts, neither of the titles pay very well.

The lineal title has definitely lost its shine in general but at Heavyweight and Middleweight they are still impressive feats that should be protected. At middleweight for example Canelo's line can be traced directly to the last great middleweight in Hopkins. Im glad he chose to defend it and not use his celebrity status to keep it hostage.
At heavyweights the last great line broke with Lewis but Wlad's reign lasted like 15 years. Too bad he was so dominant he put the division to sleep. The lack of memorable fights kills his era but he was still the undisputed leader of the division for many years until Fury got to him. Politics seem to be killing the momentum of the Fury-Wilder event but if the division survives it and keeps going this new line could become a big thing once again.

In Ali's defense, he had been unceremoniously stripped of his belts by the governing bodies for his refusal to be inducted.Thomastearns wrote: ↑03 May 2019, 10:20 Muhammad Ali claimed he was the 'people's champion' whilst Frazier held the belts.

From 1967-1970, Ali could be excused for being viewed as the true champion since he didn't lose his titles in the ring. He was simply not allowed to fight. Not his choosing.
But once he retired and offered his belts to the Frazier-Ellis winner, Ali lost his claim to being champion.
"The People's Champion" was a nice little moniker. And Ali probably deserved it. He began beating all the contenders while Frazier pretty much sat on the sidelines following the FOTC.
But no belt went along with that People's championship. It didn't even entitle Ali to a discount at McDonald's.

Jesse "Hollywood" Hart and Sullivan Barrera understand high stakes and are coming to Las Vegas, intent on cashing in with a potential world title shot on the line. Hart and Barrera will square off in a 10-round light heavyweight bout Saturday, June 15 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Fury-Schwarz and Hart-Barrera will stream live in the United States exclusively on ESPN+ — beginning at 10 p.m. EST/7 p.m. PST.
The undercard will be televised on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST/4:00 p.m. PST and will showcase undefeated 2016 Olympian Mikaela Mayer (10-0, 4 KOs), who will fight former world title challenger Lizbeth Crespo (13-4, 3 KOs) in a 10-round super featherweight bout.
Mayer is one of female boxing’s rising stars and has dominated her opposition as a professional. She went 6-0 in 2018, winning the NABF belt on August 25 with a shutout decision over the previously undefeated Vanessa Bradford. She made her 2019 debut February 15 in Hinckley, Minnesota, outclassing Yareli Larios over eight rounds. Crespo fought IBF featherweight world champion Jennifer Han in February 2018, dropping a tightly contested unanimous decision.
“It’s been a dream of mine to see women fighting alongside marquee names like Tyson Fury, and I’m grateful to be fighting at the MGM Grand on June 15,” Mayer said. “There’s still a lot the world hasn’t seen when it comes to my style and I’m ready to show everyone something special.”
In addition to Mayer-Crespo, the ESPN2/ESPN Deportes undercard broadcast will also include the following fights:
Guido “The Gladiator” Vianello (3-0, 3 KOs), a 6-foot-6 heavyweight who represented his native Italy at the 2016 Rio Olympics, will return in a six-rounder.
Featherweight Isaac Lowe (17-0-3, 6 KOs), a stablemate of Fury’s, will fight an opponent to be named in a 10-rounder.
Top super middleweight prospect Cem “Champ” Kilic (13-0, 8 KOs) will see action in an eight-rounder against an opponent to be determined.
Sonny Conto (2-0, 2 KOs), as big-punching heavyweight from Philadelphia, will make his Las Vegas debut in a four-rounder. Conto’s two professional fights — both first-round knockouts — have lasted a total of 3:30.
German heavyweight prospect Peter Kadiru (3-0, 1 KO) will fight an opponent to be named in a six-rounder.

Very good undercard scrap Hart vs. Barrera.
Lowe also on the card. The rest are just prospects which is the normal Top Rank cards.

Wonder which bouts will be televised on the PPV.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
You're thinking about taking the PPV? ... seriously ?
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
The Lineal thing is easy too follow then going with how has what belt. And how Unifed they are, then again lineal and unifed feels like different things, then again boxing is weird and outright silly.
Look at the Welterweight lineal, Manny said he retired and didn't vacant his WBO-belt but all bloody purist just "Ok"... Like the TNBR and Cyberboxing and so on.
It is so dumb.
I do think also that there is tv-backing Schwarz, so this fight makes money since when it comes to how strong the germany market is. And Schwarz ain't that bad really, tough, steady and good work rate what I have seen.
Just hoping for a good fight and that they get paid.

I didn't think so. I don't claim to know you but I had established that you have a working fully functional brain.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
I wont be wasting any time watching this tosh
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
I'll watch it on YouTube as and when. The only people paying for it are those with a serious boxing addiction, those who are ignorant and gullible, and those to whom the cost is totally meaningless, rather than a minor indulgence.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
Fury is efficient because he faints and boxes from distance... Manny made fighters who boxed from distance... mainly because of lateral stance, jab and straights... but in Fury's case he was impressed because he could pull the faints...
Schwarz while relatively talented is mainly a hungry fighter... kind of have a Breazeale type of arsenal with lotsof uppercuts and upward punches,,, very efficient if matched carefully...
in this case fury ridicules Schwarz to the point it gets stamped as a shitty fight

Hard to get interested in the fight.

No one who would identify themselves I'm sure. I'd love to see Schwarz stun Fury, but I doubt it would happen.

I do hope it doesn't stink the place out. With Fury that is always on the cards, although whether it does or not is largely dependent on the opponent.
Schwarz is young even if he has little else to inspire confidence. He might have the energy levels required to make Fury work at least.
I'm managing to contain my excitement so far, you can probably tell.

Schwarz is crap. Nothing about him suggests anything but Fury having his way with him.candyslim wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 03:06 I do hope it doesn't stink the place out. With Fury that is always on the cards, although whether it does or not is largely dependent on the opponent.
