GGG displaying his new style of fighting. Looks more muscular.

Post by apollo creed »

It looks like GGG is gonna use more his speed, jab , footwork-in and out style and timing. Now it remains to see him how he transcends his new style inside the ring against a top opponent. Also GGG looks like he added more muscle mass on his body. :box:

He looks good. We’ll have to see how it transfers to the ring.

Maybe the move (switching trainer) will prove to be a good one and extend his longevity.

Pressure fighting in my opinion is a young mans game. If he plans to not be full throttle on the gas the whole fight then that’s far smarter to his age and boxing ability,

Train and fight smarter not harder.

The change in trainer is a great idea.

On the other hand some have expressed doubts about the benefits of altitude training.

However he must feel that the benefits suggested by accumulated sporting evidence justifies the additional strain it no doubt imposes.

He might be a youthful 37 year old but training smarter is still going to become increasingly important for him.

Recovering smarter even more so.

Yup. To be fair if GGG was boxing more instead of going in seek and destroy mode, he'd not be so popular. But now at his age he's doing some smart training changes to keep him competitive and effective. :TU:

Maybe training at high altitude may wear and tear your body faster over the time. And yes a smart recovery is the key. :TU:

Yes, Golovkin looks leaner than before his few previous fights. His new conditioning coach is the same guy who helped him to recover from previous injuries.

I bet his change in tactics is caused by injuries/wear and tear which makes him less effective in brawling.

Yup. GGG has a long boxing career. So his body has a lot of wear and tear. He had to make a change.
