If Khan fought Meager for the British title

Post by boxerrob2005 »

I know Khan cant fight for the British title yet but if he could does anyone reckon he would win it? i dont think so, i reckon Khan would lose to Meager.Khan is tall like stewart was and although quicker i reckon meager would get to him and stop him late on. What does everyone else think?

Khan wins. I don't see Meager bringing anything more menacing than Komjathi.

I've always been a big fan of Meager, a box-fighter if ever there was one.

I wouldn't like to think he could lose to Khan at this stage even if his defence is sloppy to say the least.

would make sense to put khan in with stewart first and see what happens.but its not gonna happen is it? i reckon if stewart pays a bit more attention to his defence, head movement, and doesnt get drawn into a war like he did with meager,he can go on to better things. its more than likely that by the time khan is ready to fight the likes of meager he will have moved up a division anyway

Not sure Khan has any potential at welter in the coming years. Granted he's growing but he's not growing that fast and although his speed will be impressive his power will be much less so - meaning welters will respect him much less.

Khan would have to wait till he's 21 for a British shot though wouldn't he?

Does anyone honestly think that Khan isn't 'ready' for a british title shot? What exactly qualifies someone of that talent to be 'ready' for Lee Meager of all British champs? (No disrespect). Now if the national champ was a murderous puncher being tipped for bigger things, then maybe... but Meager wouldn't have a prayer outboxing Khan and he sure as hell couldn't do any better than Komjathi at out-gutsing him.

That Komjathi guy was a tough, awkward experienced euro-campaigning veteran, and Khan picked him off, with a couple of scares but came through relatively comfortably. There's nothing that suggests to me that Lee Meager could do any better.

Khan needs to be fast tracked like all good olympians with confidence behind them. His last fight was a step in the right direction.

Can he fight for the English or regional titles before then?

Its a pity the Komjathi fight wasn't a 10 rounder, might have answered a few questions.... Meager vs Komjathi would be interesting

If I knew Khan could do the rounds, I think he'd box Meager's brains off now.

I saw Meager's name appear on Froch's list of ringside seconds tonight, anyone know what that was about?

I canna see Khan beating Meager yet, he's still far to raw + he'd be out on his feet after 8 rounds.
