Saying that - you two are moaning !
I had Kelly winning the first 4 and doing enough in the last 6.
Hard to see how that was a gift ? Or a bad draw ?
Close hard fight. Kelly blew a lead, Ray didn't do quite enough...
Absolutely. It was painful to watch Kelly.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 20:26 He just struts around like a tit, it’s not good to watch at all IMO, Robinson won that fight.
I would have had Kelly nicking it as well by 1 - he started bright then faded and made it a scrap with brought Robinson into the fight.skanksta wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 20:24 I thought Kelly nicked it.
All 3 judges had it close - don't think anyone is gonna be moaning about that dec.
Are we being hard on Kelly ?
That's not a bad result/performance for his first real test away from home.
As long as he learns and improves, only his 9th fight etc...
Yeah, Roy originated the style so it was natural to him. It also worked because, as you say, he could KO you.
Exactly. RJJ built that style around him KO'ing boxers.overhand_right wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 20:30 Yeah, Roy originated the style so it was natural to him. It also worked because, as you say, he could KO you.
Kelly's borrowing his style, which is why it doesn't work and he's eating punches, and he doesn't hit hard enough to contain decent opponents.
"All show" and "no go" never won any championships, unless you're Tyson Fury!overhand_right wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 20:30 Yeah, Roy originated the style so it was natural to him. It also worked because, as you say, he could KO you.

It's his defense I'm hoping to see improvement on. He should adopt the Norton cross arms. Easy to do and would do him a lot of good as he steps up.
As Kelly’s moved up levels he’s not even looking like hurting the opponent - he’s got speed but KO power once above Domestic isn’t there at present.
