Worst night event for Hearn and Matchroom

Post by TheBeast »

Josh Kelly in a Draw... reality check... too cocky... no stamina to end late
Katie Taylor won a questionable decision (had Persoon winning)... no D
Joshua loses and shows massive stamina/chin/legs flaw

Eddie is probably wondering why he came to America.

DAZN forced him.

Joshua can always use the old standby--I was drugged in America.

More than 40 years after Zaire, plenty people still believe Foreman.

Eddie is done in boxing. Joshua was totemic of the MR brand and that's gone. Darts and snooker from here on in, though obviously, Eddie won't tell you that. Been a fun ride folks, but here's to the next Olympics.

Hearn will be able to stage highly-lucrative rematches of all these bouts.

Matchroom may be able to earn huge sums for staging them.

Wow, the cult is strong and it still hasn't quite sunk in yet has it. Your literal brand symbol has been brutally beaten. It's done, get over it.

Kelly shot himself in the foot, what an idiotic performance tonight.
At least no one will be scared enough to duck him
Taylor lost, pretty clean cut really. I can see Persoon being very confident next time.
And as for AJ, I don't have words for his performance.

I hope that it is in Aztec Stadium, Mexico City. Of course, the elevation may preclude that hope.

Eddie Hearn is a great promoter even his opponents know that, he's put together some absolutely superb events and helped revitalize the sport.
Sure take a shot at him for banters sake, you'll be hard pressed to find as energetic a figure that can make big fights happen.

You have to wonder if wilder had something to do with this. Smells odd that he set two fights in a few days leading into it.

He's great at getting his fighters title shots, even fighters who don't deserve them. But when his fighters have the belt, he's awfully prone to giving them the easiest defences possible.

Great lesson for him.

Its a volatile sport no matter the matchmaking.

Sometimes they will milk the title to cover past loses or future loses in order for it to sustain itself.
Unless you know of anyone that can do what he's done recently please name that person.

Joshua was laughing and smiling after he got KDd the first time. Arrogant twat.

I've been following Ruiz for many years so I'm pleased for him.

Let's put the cards on the table.
When Eddie Hearn started all that media with IFL and especially Kugan it took off like a rocket, it was new fresh funny and current ... still is when they do a good one.
From there a dormant U.S boxing scene all of a sudden got some legs even in light of HBO bailing on the sport, new online yt channels emerged and before long we had a healthy community of boxing fans talking smack, arguing the toss and calling each other names on route to getting the types of fights guys like Eddie Hearn want to make.
