Wow, some of these posts are giving me flashbacks to the old ESB. Chauncy did well in picking up rankings and also being one of the first Western boxers to exploit the Chinese market; I do think it’s a shame he never got a title shot, it would’ve been interesting to see him in there against one of the Klitschkos....

The old ESB was pretty fun.

The Z-Train thread was epic.

The thing is that Chauncy Welliver is the current active leader in number of HW rounds fought without ever going down. 438 rds to McCall's 434. He is still chasing Chuvallo's just over 500 rds. In Welliver's case that is very impressive as he has eaten a ton of flush punches without ever getting dropped. Even when he was struck blind by a Lucas Browne head butt and could not see anything coming in a corruptly officiated match that should have been a no contest....he never got budged. Even the damn announcers are saying Browne's right hand really needs Welliver's corner to stop it between rounds. They thought they were about to see history with Browne being the first to drop him but it never happened. That fight after he went blind is not pretty to watch in most boxing aspects but as far as displaying god given punch resistance it is a very impressive watch.

Don't look now but Welliver is active and beginning a win streak. 438 HW Rounds Without Going Down! A+ marketing tool. Another run at the belts is not out of the question. We can smoke these champions out of their spider holes. :box:

Oh shit....I did not think of that angle and eventuality. Charlie Z is going to be able to get at Andy Ruiz based on pure ease of geography. A HW champion now residing in the same state of California as the UBF no limit weight champion. There is going to be a collision between Charlie Z and Andy Ruiz.....possibly several of them. Keep an eye out and ear to the ground for that one.

Related fact: the last time Welliver beat an opponent with a boxrec rating of 1 or greater was 2012.

Many other heavyweights....marines..navy seals..etc. He has been willing for quite some time to travel to the UK and fight Joshua. Charlie doesn't like weight limits and he knows as well as anybody that the true glamor division of the sport is unlimited weight. You gotta give the man credit. Even though he is a vicious sucker punching cheat he only really attacks men much bigger than him.

One thing I would be willing to do is to tie 1 arm behind Welliver's back. Left hand as he is a south paw. But I doubt Charlie would go for that. His mind will be saying he will win and he won't want anybody have any excuses as to why he won.
this is superb stuff

He's always making videos on YouTube. That's the only place I know he frequents often. Under the 'MightyMesser' account.

Some things change and some things stay the same. Made a big post and clicked submit only to have the damn thing erased as I got logged out.

My old life died out and another began. I've been on a wild ride since 2012. I went almost 6 years without earning a single red cent. Was working my arse off the whole time though. I pretty much unplugged from active involvement in the boxing world but I've always kept an eye out here.

This place has been a snooze fest since we left off. There hasn't been any magic made here. Not even one larger than life character has been created. Not a single legend has been born. There has been no innovation whatsoever.

What is the point of talking about shiit if you aren't going to make anything happen? What is the point of pissing and moaning about all the things wrong with boxing if you aren't going to make anything right with boxing?

We changed the world. We defied the odds. We did things that nobody had ever done before. We made mountains out of molehills. We were the epitome of boxing alchemy gone right. What else can we do? Whatever the F we want to do! Boxrec has been born again.
