IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2

Just like they did to Fury after Klitschko.
The IBF want Pulev vs Fury for the strap.
IMHO on general principal Fury ought to tell them to go fornicate themselves and stick to his game plan.

I think Tyson Fury will decline the Pulev bout, because it seems as though he’ll be facing Deontay Wilder again sometime during March/April 2020. His own team, as well as the PBC guys, won’t want ‘The Gypsy King’ to take any unnecessary risks that could scupper that bout. The Brit might not want to work with the IBF either.
So I reckon Agit Kabayel will face Kubrat Pulev for the vacant IBF world title.

How depressing.
Both the idea of stripping Ruiz for the crime of adhering to his contractual commitments, and also the prospect of Pulev v Kabayel for a version of the world title. Nothing wrong with a fight between Pulev and Kabayel but it's a poor imitation of a world title fight.
It's only Joshua's ability to generate money that has kept the IBF/WBA/WBO onside. Poor Ruiz has got no chance. Once Josh has got over his Mexican mauling, it'll probably be up to him to begin the unification process from scratch again.

Re: IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2
The only upside I see to it is if Fury beats Wilder for the WBC and Pulev is also a Top Rank guy so if he wins the IBF there could be a unifier between Fury and Pulev.
Hopefully Joshua regains his belts from Ruiz. Then we can have Fury-Joshua for all the belts. But that's slim to none, cus of the other organizations will pull the same sort of stunt.
It'd take until 2022 at least.

Pulev is way too old already. I know he did a job on Hughie, but at one point Fury hit him with a shot that had him looking like a newborn giraffe. He got over it pretty quick but that's Hughie Fury hardly a renown puncher.
Neither is Tyson I know, but Tyson will box rings around the old fellah.

IBF acting disgracefully again if true. Surely when the title changes hands they should honour any immediate rematch before enforcing mandatories. Otherwise what is the point of anyone trying to pick up the IBF as part of any unification
Re: IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2
I agree. I suppose you could say "at least they're consistent" but is being consistently bad an improvement on being inconsistent ?
All they need to do is show a little commonsense and reasonableness, and they would be head and shoulders above the other governing bodies, but instead they portray themselves as petty, vindictive and inflexible. It's quite amazing they are still the best of a bad bunch. In my opinion obviously.

IBF are motherf*ckers. How can you strip a champion of a belt, cause you think, that some other guys should fight for it?
Re: IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2
Ridiculous, yet achingly predictable behaviour from the IBF. The funniest thing about that article is that their number two position is vacant. So the chap at number three is not good enough to fill it?

THIS is where the IBF are a bunch of Bàstards!!
Where I despise them the most. It’s the only time I think why don’t they be greedy. Think if Sanc fees? But nooo.
Also the IBF is the first belt AJ captured. Surely they think AJ should have a chance to regain it.
Or do what they did for GGG, honour the rematch first, as long as the winner agrees to fight Pulev.

Hearn dispelled the rumor by saying he doesn't expect any sanctioning body issues. Whether or not he told the truth is another matter, but why lie about that?

Well there you have it.
Re: IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2
What might save Ruiz is the rematch will be for megamoney. All the bloodsuckers are going to want a cut of that aren't they?.
If they do strip him they will be mean-spirited and stupid, but you'd have to admit their putting principle ahead of profit is quite refreshing in this corrupt sport.

Since their bribery scandal the ibf has adhered pretty close to their rules which strictly enforces enforced madatories

Re: IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2
btw i thought fury was supposed to have 2 more fights till wilder. wilder vs fury 2 is still a long ways away, i dont get the talk of this pushing that back?
plus fury doesnt have to fight for the ibf if he doesnt want

Re: IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2
I kinda hope Tyson Fury takes the bout. He could definitely beat Pulev, and then it'd make the rematch with Wilder that much more prestigious as they'd each be bringing a World title into the bout this time. It's technically a unification of sorts anyway, but it would be more recognizable for the general fans if Fury had a belt to bring in there with him.
Either way though it doesn't matter much. When this kinda sh*t happens it shouldn't matter to us. The IBF Champion and lineage should belong to the guy that beat the man for the belt until he loses it. When belts strip a guy for bullsh*t reasons, I wish the very first time this sh*t happened it just sank the IBF or whoever was the culprit into goddamn obscurity, and made their belt meaningless.

Re: IBF Set to Strip Ruiz, Possibly Delays Fury-Wilder 2
I know that. But Hearn is ok with IBF even before that happened. He makes it worth their while.
I see Fury saying something like, “I don’t get told who to fight. The IBF stripped me a few years ago, when I had to contractually agree to a rematch! Stuff them!”
