froch looks good tonight..

Post by Achybreaky »

I shall have my humble pie with vanilla ice cream thanks. I have been one of magee's biggest supporters but hold my hands up to the froch supporters it wasnt easy but he looked better as the fight went on.

Peach of a shot in the 11th, magee was done from the 8th after froch took his best shots very well in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th

Good?? He didn't look good. He was being outworked. He's lucky Magee has such a crap chin. My opinion of Froch hasn't changed at all. Froch's style will not cut it at the top level.

I never said he could go much higher than this level but a chin like his added to obvious power are two handy tools to have.

Lets not forget that magee is a decent yardstick to have on your resume.

Froch's just so goddamn crude. Joe Cal would give him the beating of his life.

If Tsypko (after getting a dodgy decision over Magee) can get a title shot Froch can.

No shame in that, there are not to many super middles that could compete with joe based on his last performance.

be so cynical yes there is work to be done, but there always is and he seems capable of living up 2 the challenge. He wasnt quite so "lacksadaisy" tonight! :D

Showed Championship heart - and did well just when I thought it was Magee taking control.

Magee though would have won if it wasn't for his chin.... and I'm not convinced that Magee is a true world class boxer (even if he had a cast iron chin).

So there are concerns.

If Froch calls Calzaghe a "slapper" again, I will be quite angered cause I noticed he slaps a fair bit himself... Strong man though.

NOOOO i dont mean that, i mean people say he is too flawed, but i think he is up to the challenge of putting in the work to improve his flaws. Sorry what i wanted to say wasnt meant to relate to the earlier talk of calzaghe.

Put him in with Mkrtchian next and see how his performance compares to Calzaghe's. He hasn't got a chance of getting a shot at one of the world belts right now anyway, unless maybe Kessler gives him a shot.

Froch has a decent chin, decent power but is too open. Calzaghe would smoke his boots.........

Just got in from York Hall. Froch has good power & chin but precious little else. He lands with good accuracy inconsitently too.

If only Magee had a decent chin and the confidence that brings that would have been pretty one-sided i reckon.

Carl's just about reached the limit of his talents i feel.

I agree, Calzaghe would muller him.

Again we saw that Froch went through a lean patch, but again he pulled it around to win the fight.

He has massive defensive flaws, and that isnt going to change - If matched right he can win a version of the world title, he's good enough compared to what else is about.

you have to think such a thing. Its probably my fault because if i like a fighter i dont over rate them as such, but I get optimistic that they can sort out their flaws. For example i see hatton get floored in the first by magee, i think that its a valuable lesson that will teach him alot of things ie the importance of a good defense, the danger of a southpaw etc etc but when i see floyd mayweather take a knee from a combi from zab i think "hatton can take this bum" because i dont like him. I think in his own mind, froch is humble enough to realise the work that needs doing if he is to progress much like ricky hatton, and i think people like floyd who i dont like are too full of themselves to be perfecting the essential basics. I think there is a big difference between being a talker and actually thinking that you are all that. Like with Ali i think its ok cos he really had personality, floyd's just lying to himself some of the crap he thinks up. However am i just swayed by my own opinions and seeing what i want to see?

He's got a great chin Froch. Magee caught him with some solid shots and he never flinched. I can't believe he can get away with it at the highest level, but his fights are never boring!

I've noticed how Froch has gone quiet about Calzaghe since he beat Lacy though.

Froch was lazy at times, he will get smoked at world level.

Did anyone notice Froch's foot jerk back Magee's head after the knockdown, looked vicious, thought that could of affected his equilibrium, shame the commentators didn't pick up on it.

I'd like to see Froch in with Lacy.

I was gonna ask if anybody else saw Froch do that with his foot. Magee was fcuked anyway, but it was still a nasty move! Noticed quite a few dirty tricks from Froch; Shoulder, slapping, back of the head, even a behind the back shot whilst he had him in a headlock.... I like that move, lol.

Froch showed a good chin mind, but still an arrogant overated turd, who can only fight at ONE pace.

I'd like to see im fight Robin Ried in a crossroads effort. :box:

Good win for Froch and a peach of an uppercut but I thought he was far from impressive. Anyone with a world class chin and a bit of boxing skill will beat Froch.

As for his sore right hand he says that after every bad performance. "It hasnt gone or anything but I was worried, I spent a lot of money getting it fixed" what a crock of shit.

I had Magee on points too, I thought he was ahead even with the bogus KD in the 9th.
