Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
I feel Eddie Hearn has done well for himself & british boxing has clearly benefitted in recent years with regards to the sport being more in the public eye.
But, with regards to all what he is up to in the states & other countries with the sheer volume of fighters he is signing, how bothered do you think Eddie is with regards to AJs loss?
I ask this and use the heavyweights as just 1 example as he has Uysk, Whyte, Hrgovic, Chisora, Parker & Gassiev all signed to his promotional companies (Matchroom UK or Matchroom USA)?
Another question with the emergence of DAZN, how much longer will Eddie's stay at Sky Sports last?

Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
Eddie has enough fighters at the weight and with Dazn he can buy more.
The Joshua rematch will be huge, and if Joshua wins he holds most of the cards again.
If Ruiz does win again he will end up defending against some of Eddies boys and Ruiz isn't good enough to beat all of them.
His biggest worry is that Fury, Wilder and Ruiz all fight each other and Eddie gets frozen out.

Does he not have a piece of Ruiz?Coco wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 14:45 Eddie has enough fighters at the weight and with Dazn he can buy more.

Ruiz is Al haymon . So he's gonna fight other haymon fighters
Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
ruiz may be contracted to an immediate rematch though of course
Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
If eddies honest I bet he's a bit sick over it
But as they say "the show must go on"
And he has plenty more money to earn & lots of other fighters

Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
Of course Eddie will be gutted , him and AJ are obviously close and no one likes to see a friend KO’d
Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
Wouldn't be the worse thing if AJ got new management/promotional representation. AJ could use a clean slate after that loss.

Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
I am not so sure.
Eddie as I have already eluded to has done bloody well for himself, to get there you have to have a ruthless streak.
Perhaps more interesting is how Eddie deals with Sky & DAZN. Its been alright so far because there is an existing contract with Sky in place. What happens when that contract runs out.

Eddie definitely used Joshua contract to get the big Sky and DAZN deals ! Having the heavyweight king is a huge bargaining tool!Spud wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 15:32 I am not so sure.

It wont be long before Uleksandr Uysk is Eddie's number 1 fighter.

No one in the PBC is tied to a promotion. They’re either managed or advised by Al.paddy chavez wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 15:08 Ruiz is Al haymon . So he's gonna fight other haymon fighters
PBC use standard promoters like TGB and DiBella.
I was saying the rematch will be a Matchroom Promotion. Not PBC.

not sure why hed leave matchroom now, theyve done great for him and they didnt lose the fight he did. the rematch should be big and josh will have the chance to bounce right back into things, lets see if he can
Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
which is why I guess Ortiz has been given another shot!

I didn't realise that Wilder was with PBCRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 15:40 You said if Ortiz beats Wilder, PBC will have all the belts? But Wilder is PBC. If Ortiz beats Wilder, I reckon there will be a 3rd fight.

Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
Eddie went through this with Audley at the back end of his career. He knows fighters have shelf lives. He's had the top heavyweight for several years, who's held most of the belts, and Sky have had it good too, for the same reason. Will be interesting to see how the politics play out, the fighters fight each other (or not!), the promoters battle each other on another level.....

Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
Joshua makes money on another level to all the other fighters Hearn has so a loss will definitely affect that. While it seems Wilder is tied up until 2020 the loss could mean a belt is lost as the IBF May order a mando before the rematch can be made and got out the way.
It’s a definite spanner in the works that Hearn won’t have wanted despite having so many other interests that make good money

That’s Karma at work. The IBF and WBO have to order mandatories, that’s the only reason AJ ever won one!jameswilson wrote: ↑03 Jun 2019, 15:54 Joshua makes money on another level to all the other fighters Hearn has so a loss will definitely affect that. As stated in another thread; I would prefer that The Fat King of Boxing unify v Wilder before bouncing AJ outta the bar once more.

Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
I know Eddie's a bit of a second hand car salesman but I think he does have the majority of his fighters best interests at heart, even his biggest critics can doubt his passion for the sport, he's a rich kid so I doubt money motivates him to much, I think he's more driven by being successful, some of his reactions when his man has won is as real as you'll see, Froch, Crolla, Barker, Brook, Katie Taylor and Allen come to mind, some guys like Khan, Chisora and maybe even Whyte these days might be more of a business relationship but I doubt they'll care too much, they don't seem the type
I think out of all the guys he's promoted i'd imagine he's most heavily invested in Joshua, not only is he the cash cow and the Matchroom trailblazer but whatever you think of AJ's ability, both of them took over the game in this county and more or less beyond in a short space of time, the tickets sales, PPV numbers, endorsements etc, it was global
I'm a Joshua fan so i'd like to see him come again, I don't mind admitting I'm pure gutted he lost because the Joshua/Wilder/Fury circle got the juices flowing. I was pissed at Wilder for refusing the undisputed fight and I was pissed at Fury for knocking back the Wilder rematch but it is what it is, they've lost out on a payday of epic proportions and the chance to secure generations of their families financial security and once again us fans have been robbed of great fights
I consider Fury a PED cheat and regard him no better than Jarrell Miller but he showed class in his support of Joshua, Wilder on the other hand is a wrong'un and classic bully, shat himself out the fight with AJ and now he's gloating as if he knew all along, typical bully boy behaviour, if he thought he'd seen any weakness in Joshua he could exploit he'd have took the fight in a heartbeat, he'll be devastated he's went an announced the Ortiz and Fury rematches because even though Ruiz destroyed AJ , I bet Wilder wants that undisputed fight now, 100%

Re: Eddie Hearn .... is he bothered?
This was always gonna be another of those moments where some people make out like this is the beginning of the end and gloat and I was pretty sure that Wilder would gloat and Fury would show some class.
Ultimately there were people giving it some after Frampton beat Quigg. Just out of interest can people tell me how Frampton and McGuigan are doing now compared to Hearn?
I somehow think in 2 years time Joshua and Hearn will find a way to have won more money than the competition.
