So you get annoyed at the nails in the coffin commentary from the forum, but you open a thread to trap more AJ "abusers." You sick little bvstard!

People are funny. Minds get changed in a flash. I think AJ can fix the technical flaws and beat Ruiz. IT all depends on whether he truly wants it. He's been wildly successful and doesn't need it anymore financially. It's all up to him.

not annoyed at all, i agree with them, taking a loss shows aj is finished and was always dumpy and never at the level of a ruiz

That damn 'zero' effect. remember this...it's possible that this is the best thing to happen to AJ. First loss was a blessing to Joe Louis. It taught him a lot about himself and what he needed to do. I'm sure we can find many others. He may be more relaxed now. Who knows. Don't be so hard on us posters. Except if you find former AJ supporters who are abandoning him because of this one loss. Sorry for the rant.

I really hope the betting odds reflect the results of this poll. Judging by the standard of analysis from some of you chuckleheads, I would make a fortune.

Sadly though, the bookies tend to price things correctly. Just looking now, Joshua is a 1/3 favourite for the rematch, and that’s just because his stock has gone down. . Realistically, he should be 1/5 or longer.

That's boxing for you.

I think AJ should use the tactics from the first 2 rounds, and I think that will be enough to win.
How I see it exactly. All these people fussing about a Wlad style rehabilitation are off base . Not needed.

Having watched it again - I think AJ will win the rematch. He does have zero boxing IQ or there is something really wrong in the camp - some of the comments he was making in between rounds were bemusing to say the least. McCraken was talking to him like he was a 10 year old novice at times. Whilst it was strange he kept asking what punch put him down, I find it even more bizarre that at the end of the second round McCraken was telling him, just jab, right hand, no hooks yet - and AJ was like "oh yeah, it is too early to hook wait till he tires" - like a robot. Never really seen a corner man give such specific instructions to a world champion in such early stages - a true fighter would SENSE when a fighter is ready to be hooked, not be told.

However, what has made me go for AJ is two things. 1 - Think Ruiz was more hurt by both the KD (or just prior) and the shot in Round 5 than AJ is credited for and had AJ not got careless in Round 3 it might have been different and 2 - AJ actually did quite well to survive round 3 in hindsight he was all over the shop but pot shotted and held his way out of the round quite well. It sorted of reminded me of a lower level Holmes vs Tyson round 4, where Larry nearly survived that round. I think had that Round 3 happened later in the fight when Ruiz was more tired we might not have seen a stoppage.

So I think AJ will come in lighter, but use his size - land his shot first (as he did on Saturday) but stand back and continue to fight at range - winning the fight on a dull PTS victory (or late stoppage) but generally be in control - with Ruiz looking live but not doing enough. Almost reminiscent of the Takam and Parker performances from AJ.

It's deeper than just flaws, Ruiz is miles ahead technically because he's been boxing his whole life. Watch the exchange in round 3 after Ruiz gets dropped. AJ tries to catch him with a short left hook and Andy just slides right under it. That's world class defensive movement built from a lifetime of muscle memory. Literally 2 seconds later Ruiz clips AJ with the exact same shot and AJ doesn't even anticipate it, let alone slip it. That's the difference in a nut shell. A natural fighter with legit pedigree vs a manufactured banger that's coasted by on 1 shot power alone.

If this rematch comes off I'd bet my house that Andy Ruiz cleans his clock. Again.

but we already know Ruiz will be much much more aggressive, not to mention offensively competent, than Parker or Takam were against AJ- how then will AJ replicate those performances, against an opponent who shows a totally different skillset, which make such different demands on his own skillset?

He wasn't showing it IMO until AJ caught him and then went in a bit careless. AJ won the first two rounds for me doing close to nothing, which WAS similar to the Parker / Takam fight. I envisage fight two being like the first two rounds of fight 1 but for a lot longer.

Bit harsh. Over the past few years he's beated Whyte, Vlad (albeit aged), Parker and Povetkin. This isn't the resume of a complete phony.

Realistically, how many fighters reverse such a complete thrashing?

It takes a really special fighter to overcome the demons and employ a completely different style of boxing that nullifies their conqueror. I suppose whether you think Joshua can do this depends on how special a talent you think he is. I think he's a good dangerous strongman who can overpower plenty of people, but I just don't think he has the boxing background or natural, instinctual, reflexive powers that Ruiz does, and he would need a tremendous amount of luck to overcome such formidable advantages. Ruiz wrapped his soul in a nice spicy fajita and gobbled it up whole. In fact Ruiz could probably be peeled out of the Wembley KFC while AJ is doing his elaborate ringwalk, suck the grease off his fingers, glove up, waddle down to the ring, beat AJ up and be back in KFC before closing time. That's the kind of mastery I think he has over AJ, but it will be exciting to be proved wrong.

Bit harsh - is this now becoming the "Fury won every round vs Klitchsko" exageration we've since heard....... or Chisora vs Helenius worst decision in British heavyweight history - yet John Rawling - who said this since, thought it was "razor tight" at the time.

It was a 1-2 point difference (tops) at the time of the stoppage. AJ won three rounds, Ruiz won three on my card.

Yeah he's been bigger on the scales on paper but looked even more bulked up at weigh in and in the fight - perhaps it was because he was weighing against a much smaller man height wise, but AJ looked even bigger than usual, his shoulder seemed massive.

that's quite a lot of things he needs to work on

Lose weight, get faster, box more and get fitter.

Easy to do , stay off the weights , at least the weights he's been using to bulk up , do more speed work , practice footwork drills , , and get in the ring more , and he'll just naturally get faster and fitter , When you get to the nitty gritty only way to get better at boxing is to practice your drills , and box , box then box some more ,, Not gonna build ring IQ and boxing stamina , pushing weights and sat on a rowing machine , although theres a lot of well paid people at institute of sports in different countries around the world who would disagree with me ,

Don't mind me though i have a bit of a pet hate for some of the bollocks that comes out of there mouths ,

Trouble is maybe in his eyes he will need to get bigger and stronger to be more sturdy,Bruno did it.
