There's no such thing as a boring GGG fight - the rest are intriguing extras.
It's going to be interesting to see how Steve Rolls handles all this. So far he looks cool and focused. I'm guessing he's going to follow the Canelo strategy and not the one chosen by Brook, Lemieux or Martirosyan.

He doesn't have skills or power to follow Canelo strategy and with promissed new GGG strategy, I doubt Rolls will be able to land much at all.Thomastearns wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 07:04![]()

No, no, no. As much as I respect Steve Rolls, 2 Cinderella stories in one week (at the same venue) is too much.
Thankfully boxing is not a totally random sport. There is an established orthodoxy of technique and it looks like Gennady Golovkin is moving back towards it.

I seriously doubt that DAZN would publish details of their figures relating to viewership or new subscribers for the Golovkin-Rolls fight card. The main event and its undercard are extremely lacklustre.
This could be one of the worst-viewed bouts of Gennadiy’s entire career, perhaps having smaller viewership figures than his fights against Adama Osumanu and Nobuhiro Ishida.
People might think I’m being overly-harsh, but I cannot imagine anyone being sincerely excited by any of the bouts being televised at MSG this weekend.

Golovkin vs Adama wasn't televised in US and whatever viewership numbers there were in Europe, they will be beaten by DAZN this Saturday.

We'll never find out because DAZN won't publish details of their commercial failures, such as the GGG-Rolls event.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 11:55 Golovkin vs Adama wasn't televised in US and whatever viewership numbers there were in Europe, they will be beaten by DAZN this Saturday.

Tom Loeffler has just confirmed to iFL TV the validity of Saunders tweet and also admitted that Saunders had indeed signed-up for the GGG bout.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑30 May 2019, 07:34 Article that has just been pulished today:
"Billy Joe Saunders blasts back at ‘p***y’ Gennady Golovkin after GGG dismisses him as ‘not serious’"
Billy Joe Saunders has branded Gennady Golovkin a ‘p***y’ in response to the Kazakh dismissing him as a potential opponent.
Britain’s newly-crowned two-weight world champion named GGG as a foe he still wants to face following his title win earlier this month, despite the fact they were unable to make an undisputed fight happen back in 2017.
When asked by US reporters about Billy Joe’s latest call-out, Golovkin replied: “Let’s not talk about Saunders. Why talk about Saunders?
“If somebody wants to fight, we’ll consider it. They should all line up, form a line…
“Come on guys, he’s not serious. If you want serious, just ask me a serious question.”
GGG seemingly still holds bad feeling towards Saunders due to the fact their bout never came to fruition when he held three middleweight titles, with BJS at that stage owning the elusive final belt.
However Saunders has a different version of events and posted a screenshot of a private conversation he had with Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler.
The message shows contact between the two parties in 2017, shortly before Gennady’s fight with Daniel Jacobs, and suggests Billy Joe was pushing to get an agreement sent to him to make the undisputed bout happen.
Saunders tagged Golovkin into the image and captioned it: “Who’s the p***y now?”
Tom Loeffler had previously confirmed that Saunders had also agreed to a deal to face GGG had the Canelo rematch failed to materialise, meaning the Brit had signed-up for the Golovkin bout on two separate occasions, but it was the Kazakh that decided to walk away from taking the fight twice.
Thoughts?![]()
Therefore, Loeffler has officially confirmed that Billy Joe had actually agreed to face Golovkin on two separate occasions.
Once before GGG’s first bout against Canelo. And again afterwards.

That fight was available in over 100 countries.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 11:55 Golovkin vs Adama wasn't televised in US and whatever viewership numbers there were in Europe, they will be beaten by DAZN this Saturday.

It’s not that HBO didn’t want to show the fight, they couldn’t. This is what they said:
"After extensive collective efforts, logistics to produce the fight from Monte Carlo could not be resolved. We have tried for the past month to find a way to televise Gennady Golovkin vs. Osumanu Adama on Feb. 1 from Monte Carlo," read a statement from HBO.
"Unfortunately, the venue could not accommodate our production needs. We spent weeks looking at creative ways to produce a telecast for the HBO2 service from Monte Carlo and it simply could not get resolved. We are grateful for all the assistance from Tom Loeffler and K2 in trying to get us accommodated."
"Unfortunately, they can't accomodate all of the production equipment. It's a very small venue," said Loffler of The Salle des etoiles. "We tried every angle to try to make it work, and it just didn't. It didn't seem possible. HBO wanted to produce its own signal. The fight will be on all of the international channels, it just won't be broadcast here in the United States."

You’ll notice that a couple of fights are missing. His brutal knockout of Nobuhiro Ishida and stoppage of Osumanu Adama which were not shown on HBO. Also not pictured is the fight with Gabriel Rosado which was an undercard fight to Mikey Garcia vs Orlando Salido. That card did 1.3 million viewers.
Golovkin has been one of HBO’s most bankable stars when kept on their premium network. When he’s not on a daytime card (as he was with Kell Brook and Martin Murray) he’s a guaranteed 1 million viewers. This is critical because hitting a million viewers for HBO has become harder and harder.
In the past year only two fighters have pushed HBO past the 1 million mark. Gennady Golovkin and Andre Ward.

What HBO said about their "inability" to televise the Adama fight is laughable. They did televise the Murray fight in exact same arena.

Adama came before Murray.
