Correction, AJ undercards to prop up PPV buys in the Irish market. Which I have been going mad about for ages.

The UK is neutral territory but Persoon should realise if the fight headlined an arena in Belgium, the Irish would travel over for Katie.

Fair enough.

Could easily score the last round 10-8

Can't remember. Dog tired watching it and thinking why am I bothering to stay up for Joshua's foregone conclusion.

Seemed that Taylor won the first half of most rounds. Persoon won her rounds more convincingly. Sorry, not much help...

In the build up to this, Carl Frampton said he was regularly outboxed by Katie Taylor in sparring.

How embarrassing for him

Taylor got well beaten by Persoon. She tends to commit to combos before she throws them, it's strange. She jumps in and wings 3 or 4 punch combos regardless of wether the the opening is there or not. It results in her landing combos on gloves, wasting energy, and being wide open for counters. Persoon bullied her and won convincingly. Hatchet job by the judges.

Much better with a cold press/ice pack or wet towel on a injury on eye like that as opposed to endswell

There were no 10-8 rounds, although Taylor nearly collapsed in the 10th.

She was out of it. That could have easily been a 10-8 round. Don’t need a KD for a 10-8 round do we?

No, but I very seldom score one unless a fighter is defenseless. I almost gave Manny one v Horn. Just like I very seldom give even rounds. Once you go down that road it can get more and more normalized.

If the fight were scored on overall effect, Persoon obviously won.

Come to think of it, that would be a great way to decide victors when the cards show a draw; vote for overall fight effectiveness. It does not come into play unless it is a draw round by round. :maybe:

Lol a hero's welcome. She lost by 4 rounds and got a gift decision. If Persoon didn't have a belt. I'm certain it would have been ruled a draw.

For her own legacy she has to rematch Persoon.

Any controversial results, whether it favours you or not should be made right.

There are many boxers out there that are not the biggest punchers and actually rely on the judges scorecards. Some might just nick a win, sometimes it’s a wide decision.

Guys like Pernell, Bradley, Pac (later career), Mayweather. Warrington, Farmer. There’s plenty.

This Katie Taylor fight was blatant obvious that it was for Taylor to become the Undisputed champion. That was the only purpose.

Even Floyd ‘flippin’ Mayweather won a MD against Maidana and rematched him.

I remember telling some Irish fans that may weather was going to outclass McGregor and you'd think I personally insulted them.

Frampton had it 8-2 persoon. I had it 7-3 being very generous to Taylor. She didn't win the fight and it is sickening to see everyone celebrating someone getting robbed

Is getting robbed losing by the minimum amount possible even in a subjective sport such as boxing.

Stop embarrassing yourself and have some integrity. Stop looking at it from a nationalistic and patriotic point of view. In terms of the actual fight, Taylor lost clearly.

We support our own. We never bash our own for taking fights that could change their lives and support them regardless.

Its a bit of an irony, that a poster whose name is: The Leprechaun is telling an Irish fan, to stop looking at from a nationalistic and patriotic point of view. Where are Leprechauns most associated with again?

There's nothing wrong with being natio alistic and patriotic but where does compassion and logic come in? We have a fighter who was absolutely robbed and worked hard her whole life to get in that position only to be shafted. To celebrate and gloat over a "win" like that shows a lack of class and sheer disrespect and bad sportsmanship. I always like to err on the side of fairness and integrity. If a fighter gets robbed it leaves a sour taste in the mouth no matter who is on the receiving end. I can't believe the lack of class shown to celebrate that. Taylor should be coming out saying she lost the fight and will give persoon a rematch asap.

When Henry handled the ball and scored a goal to put ireland out of a tournament there was uproar about how unfair and unjust it was. When the shoe is on the other foot there is nothing but celebration of a robbery. I may sound like I'm being overzealous here but I really feel for persoon and to be honest I find the whole Taylor celebrations and excuses to be sickening quite frankly

I'm a big fan of Taylor's, but there's no way she won that fight.

Imagine if it were 3 minute rounds? Doubt she'd have heard the final bell.

Wasn’t Hammer-Shields 3 min rounds?

They should just do 3 min rounds. That way we would see more stoppages.
