Oogie do you really have to piss on my chips? I know you are very probably right but at least allow the faint possibility it might be worth them getting laced up.

Andy Vences vs. Albert Bell Added To Fury vs. Schwarz
A pair of unbeaten super featherweight contenders will get a chance to shine on the sport’s biggest stage. Andy “El Tiburon” Vences will defend his WBC Continental Americas belt in a 10-rounder against Albert “Prince” Bell June 15 at MGM Grand Garden Arena on the Tyson Fury-Tom Schwarz undercard.
Vences-Bell and Mikaela Mayer-Lizbeth Crespo will anchor the live Fury-Schwarz undercard broadcast beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.
Fury-Schwarz and Jesse Hart-Sullivan Barrera will stream on ESPN+, the leading multi-sport streaming service, starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
Vences-Bell was originally set to take place June 8 in Reno, Nevada, on the Oscar Valdez-Jason Sanchez undercard, but both fighters are excited to take their talents to Las Vegas.
“We were prepared to fight June 8, so this doesn’t change anything. I know this is a big opportunity and that a win would be huge for my career,” Vences said. “I can see Bell getting hurt this fight. He is the only one standing in my way as I move toward a world title shot. He can hit and move all he wants, but it’s going to take much more than that to get my respect.”
“All this does is give me one extra week to train,” Bell said. “I am excited and blessed to be fighting at the MGM Grand on the same card as the heavyweight champion.”
Vences (22-0-1, 12 KOs), from San Jose, California, has won two in a row since a closely contested draw against Erick De Leon on the Oscar Valdez-Scott Quigg undercard March 10 of last year. He is coming off a shutout unanimous decision over Dardan Zenunaj Feb. 10 in Fresno, California. Bell (14-0, 5 KOs), from Toledo, Ohio, has never been close to defeat as a pro but will be taking a giant step up in competition versus Vences. A 2012 National Golden Gloves champion as an amateur, Bell last fought Feb. 15 in Hinckley, Minnesota, scoring a decision win over the durable Edward Kakembo.

Schwarz is a bad pick for a title defense. What is he rated at Box Rec? Here's the thing, we don't know how fat Fury will be and his game is based on mobility. If he's pushing 275, Schwarz, has a chance to spark him.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
Fury can be 325 and he'll beat Schwarz without too much issue. He's that bad.pound per pound wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 20:55 Schwarz is a bad pick for a title defense. What is he rated at Box Rec? Yes, Schwarz is slower, easy to hit, and really does not hit that hard. I get it. However, Fury's chin isn't much better than Joshua's. I've seen a former cruiser buzz Fury. These heavyweight might be a sub par lot, but most of them could spark each other if they land right.
Fury is poor man's Calzaghe at heavyweight. A spoiler type. But if he's fat, he's much easier to hit.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
I'm not high on Fury, but Schwarz is horrendous and doesn't even show much fire in the ring. Honestly I could care less if Fury is sparked, but I sincerely doubt Schwarz is capable even with 'one free hit!"pound per pound wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 21:04 Yes, Schwarz is slower, easy to hit, and really does not hit that hard. Why would you consider this a title defense?pound per pound wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 20:55 Schwarz is a bad pick for a title defense. What is he rated at Box Rec? Just a routine heavyweight fight.
Fury gave up his belts a few years back when he announced his retirement.
Guys like Ruiz and Wilder are now the champions. Fury is just chasing the belts these days

He probably is a Fury fan and considers him lineal as if that means something these days.SenorPipino wrote: ↑04 Jun 2019, 21:47 Why would you consider this a title defense?

It means something as a promotional device. Billing him as the "lineal heavyweight champion of the world" will always quicken the pulse of a few casual fans.
But as the saying goes, that and $2 will get you a cup of coffee at McDonald's.
I wish Lewis would announce a comeback. That would really mess up all this absurd lineal champion stuff.

Ruiz v Schwarz for the unified and lineal championship takes some getting used to but the more you practice saying it the easier it gets to say.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
Mainstream casuals will inevitably buy into the legitimacy of the lineal championship, because it’s been around for decades and many Hall-of-Famers have boasted about the ownership of this mythical moniker, Tyson Fury is unbeaten, and he was also unfairly deprived the right to claim the ownership of the WBC championship.
From a commercial perspective, it doesn’t really matter if the hard-core fraternity, which represents a very small minority of the people who purchase boxing events, ridicule the validity of the lineal championship, because the only thing that counts is the perception of the media and the paying mainstream casuals.
If promoters and TV networks are capable of selling events based on the reputation of the lineal championship, then they will inevitably exploit Fury’s mythical status.

can't agree more...SenorPipino wrote: ↑05 Jun 2019, 09:50 The only belt Fury has is one that holds up his pants.
The rest are imaginary.
You only feel a need to trumpet a lineal belt when you hold no others.

Maybe I'm a simpleton but I put more stock in the lineal title than the ABC belts, even if they are nice and shiny.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
Meh...the lineal title was big a few decades ago, but no longer. With four organizations, which one do we backtrack to find thee guy that beat the guy? No one cares anymore.JohnMcMinn wrote: ↑05 Jun 2019, 11:44 Maybe I'm a simpleton but I put more stock in the lineal title than the ABC belts, even if they are nice and shiny.

How come people always make a huge deal out of the lineal title when it comes to heavyweights but it's seldom mentioned in the other weight divisions?
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
I don't think there's a situation outside of HW where it might be applied, frankly.SenorPipino wrote: ↑05 Jun 2019, 11:54 How come people always make a huge deal out of the lineal title when it comes to heavyweights but it's seldom mentioned in the other weight divisions?
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
Fury is too smart to get Joshua'd. He's not a guy to fight a foolish style fight. He will do what he always does in this fight. Rule with the jab, fight smart. You wont seeing him trading 6 punch power hooks inside the pocket like an idiot.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Tom Schwarz - June 15, 2019
There probably is, but I'll defer to some lineal freak who has mapped out the genealogy of championships in all the weight divisions.
It just seems that few pay attention to who can authentically claim a lineal title at the lower weights.
When all 100 of the sanctioning bodies blossomed in the past decades, I lost track of who was a legit champ and who was strictly an alphabet creation.
Throw in all the stripping, relinquishing and run-of-the-mill quicky retirements, and it's near impossible to determine who's real and who's a fraud.
