How will Eddie Hearn 'spin' the AJ loss?

Post by dbf »

In a bid to disarm Eddie Hearn before he comes out with any spin/damage limitation here is what I expect the spiel to be like;

This is the best thing to happen to AJ. He is now solely focussed on revenge and has put all his commercial obligations, sponsorships and non boxing related appearances on the back shelf.

You’re going to see a completely different AJ. This AJ is a dangerous man. He is obsessed (nod to big bro Wlad).

You’ll have Wilder and Fury thinking that AJ’s vulnerable but the truth is he got hit high on the head and never recovered, you’ll see a different man in the rematch.

Perhaps now Fury and Wilder will actually want to fight AJ.

All the greats have lost and come back, AJ just enhances his reputation by gaining revenge and becoming a two time champion.

Wilder and Fury don’t know what its like to lose and therefore don’t have the drive that AJ has. They aren’t as complete.

The British public will behind AJ even more now.

Watch AJ as the challenger, he’ll be hungrier (and humble-r) than before.

AJ had the weight of the world on his shoulders before, now that pressure is lifted its back to basics.

Before the Ruiz fight I always thought changes to the set up of his camp needed to be made and this loss has been a great catalyst for change.

Setbacks pave the way for even bigger comebacks.

Any I have missed?

I don't think he needs to spin anything, he will say that it demonstrates what can happen in heavyweight boxing and now it is make or break for AJ in the biggest fight of his career.

If Hearn doesn't spin this to make it look like a good thing, he isn't doing his job properly.

Pretty much.

They'll hype it up as a Repeat Or Revenge do-or-die style rematch. They won't really have to explain anything about the first fight.
