Damn that's very hard to watch.
No one wants to see any fighter seriously injured. But it happens.
It's the one part of the sport I can never get used too. I hope he recovers

Now let's all just get back to agreeing that Deontay Wilder's express desire to beat a man to death is just a bit of entertaining hoopla that only a pansy would be disturbed by.

Although I'm hardly a medical professional, it seems that resuscitation efforts were substandard.
In the US when a fighter is that dire condition, an oxygen mask is quickly applied and he's transported rapidly from the ring.
Pumping his chest manually instead of using a more effective defibrillator, which should be on hand at every fight card.
I don't know if an ambulance was even stationed at the Mexican arena.
But all in all, a terrible sight to see. You can only pray that Orucuta makes a complete recovery. Last I heard, he remained comatose.

An AED only provides a shock for a VF or VT rhythm, it is not the same as chest compressions nor is it useful if the heart has actually stopped; they serve two different purposes.SenorPipino wrote: ↑09 Jun 2019, 13:46 My sentiments too.

It looks like Orucuta was still conscious in the beginning of the video though, so CPR shouldn't have been done anyway unless he did lose consciousness somewhere in the video. It did seem a little substandard to be honest.
So tragic. Things like this really do make me question if I enjoy this sport.

I just watched the documentary, "After the Last Round" and this is exactly the kind of harsh reality it addresses. Very sad; very sad.

Horrible scene. He has a blood clot as last reported. In a Medically Induced Coma.

Is there a video available of the full fight?
I see the FOX sports banner hanging above the ring, so the card was undoubtedly televised.

The hell it is. What happened to that hearing they were going to summon him to concerning that - and speaking of no one remembering, I seem to be the only one concerned with the person who was in that costume on that Spanish language tv show that Wilder sucker punched with all his might.
Felipe: Godspeed get better!
Re: Felipe Orucuta is in a coma and nobodoy is talking about this
He took a lot of clean punches and too many at the end off the fight. Ref was ok. Maybe a punch or two slow to stop. The guy got beat up pretty good over 10 rounds.SenorPipino wrote: ↑09 Jun 2019, 14:56 Have you watched it?
I was curious as to whether it was a sustained beating from the beginning or was Orucuta possibly just injured by those heavy, clean punches in the knockout round.

Ok. Thanks.
Orucuta might be a little old for the game. Super flyweights are usually well on the slide at 33, so in this case age might have had an effect.
I also wonder if going 12 punishing rounds with Estrada in his last fight might have taken a toll. He took a lot of punches against the future champion.

And then you have people saying that Floyd Mayweather JR was a chicken, that Canelo fight vs Jacobs was boring and that Joshua is a quitter
