Since 2009?
I couldn't tell you. I'd say neither. They are largely overblown, especially Joshua-Ruiz. Just because a fight is exciting or unexpectedly good doesn't mean it was the fight of the decade.

Odd choice of Joshua Ruiz
Joshua Klitschko was a far better fight

Wilder-Ortiz, Joshua-Klitschko and Matthysse-Molina were more exciting affairs than Joshua-Ruiz Jr. They might not have had the shock factor, but they were definitely more competitive action-packed bruising seesaw encounters, where both fighters scented victory during various stages of those bouts.

10th June 2009 until today’s date is a decade.

No, no way, and Wilder survived because the help of the referee.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019, 02:30 Wilder-Ortiz, Joshua-Klitschko and Matthysse-Molina were more exciting affairs than Joshua-Ruiz Jr. They might not have had the shock factor, but they were definitely more competitive action-packed bruising seesaw encounters, where both fighters scented victory during various stages of those bouts.
A FOTD is a fight with two big names, with skills, action, and drama, epicness, not just a fight with a lot of action.
Molina vs Matthysse were simply two very limited fighters exchanging punches
Joshua vs Klitschko was too good but Klitschko was shot and old, and it was not a lot drama, Ruiz vs Joshua was diferent, just the third rounds, all the worlk thought Ruiz was finished and the fight was over after those left hooks of Joshua, but then, Ruiz landed that left Hood and drops Joshua.
There were 5 knockouts.. 3 titles in line, and the bigger upset of the last two decades

Marquez vs Pacquiao IV was one of the best fight in history, and probably the best fight of the decadeHomicideHenry wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019, 00:54 Since 2009?

Are you seriously suggesting that th 10th June 2009 until today’s date is not a decade?

The 10th June 2009 until today’s date is a decade. No one can refute that.
The thread title is wrong, since no one is able to see into the future to watch any of the bouts occurring between tomorrow through until some point during 2020.

Vargas-Miura always stands out to me as the most dramatic fight I've seen in the past few years.
It took place in 2015, so it apparently qualifies for inclusion, no matter how you prefer to define a decade.

wtf
Pac v JMM 4 is the greatest fight I've ever seen.
Ruiz vs AJ was 2 bums in a car park by comparison.

Tim Bradley vs Ruslan Provodnikov might be my favorite of the decade so far.
Wasn't as action packed as my first decade of fandom, but there were some very good ones. AJ vs Klitschko was spectacular too.

Nobody has to refute that. The title of the thread says 2010-2020. This to me indicates January 1st, 2010 onward. You lose.Enlightened-One wrote: ↑10 Jun 2019, 03:54 The 10th June 2009 until today’s date is a decade. No one can refute that.![]()

And continuing to write books about why you think you're right doesn't change the fact that you didn't read the thread title right.

Is two sentences a book?
Re: Marquez vs Pacquiao IV or Joshua vs Ruiz I, What Was the fight of the decade (2010-2020) ?
I'm talking about your usual M.O. not this thread in particular.
Re: Marquez vs Pacquiao IV or Joshua vs Ruiz I, What Was the fight of the decade (2010-2020) ?
I'd take that more seriously if you followed it up with something better than Ruslan vs Bradley. As good as that fight was, it was hardly the highest echelon of the sport in a technical sense. Pacquiao JMM 4 was 2 absolute masters of their craft going to total war with a incredible results and the greatest KO in boxing history imo.
As much as I enjoy watching old classics like Rumble in the Jungle, No Mas & Hagler Hearns, they don't measure up to Pac Jmm 4 imo. (I actually watched Thrilla in Manilla tonight).
Now, i think rewatching fights from before your time certainly loses some context; live fights come with greater excitement of being in the here & now and not knowing whats going to happen, so perhaps the classics probably start off at a disadvantage. My jaw was wide open for 5 minutes when Marquez laid him out.
