Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
According to Fury his fight against Schwartz could be for the WBO trinket if the WBO strip Schwartz. Is there word that Ruiz is about to get stripped??
Re: Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
I hope they warn us before they strip him!

Its a disgrace if they do, they'd never have stripped Joshua if he'd have won and I'm sure they took Ruiz's sanctioning fees
In saying that is there a bigger liar in boxing than Tyson Fury?

Wouldn't be surprised - Frank and the WBO have a great relationship .
Pretty shit if it does but in grand scheme of things doesn't change I thing with regards to who we reckon is better than who.
would mean Wilder or Fury have 2 belts though after they fight next year (barring a draw )
I genuinely cant see a fight with Joshua against Wilder or Fury every happening.

The lineal champion of the work doesn't need belts.
Or that is what we have been led to believe....From Camp Fury lol

I'd be surprised. Even for a boxing org I can't recall one of them stripping a fighter without mandating something for the fighter to refuse.Gazmac81 wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 07:01 Wouldn't be surprised - Frank and the WBO have a great relationship .

Maybe because he is going ahead with a Joshua defence without authorisation.
Essentially they did the same to Fury..

Re: Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
Yes but all bodies are the same and will use the same justifications
Re: Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
Yes he did and that is why he was stripped because the IBF wanted him to fight someone like Charr on John Ruiz instead, or was it Fres Oquana?

Re: Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
How can Ruiz possibly be stripped? He won the belt less than 2 weeks ago.....
Re: Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
This is heavyweight boxing unfortunately!
By taking the Joshua rematch it will give the other bodies the opportunity to strip him if he doesn't take on their no 1 contender.
It's up to them if they grant him a voluntary or not.
Re: Is the WBO about to strip Ruiz?
I remember Hamed being installed as mandatory for the WBO without having a fight at feather, or previously holding any of their titles.
Steve Robinson was on holiday and told if he didn't take the fight in 6 weeks he would be stripped.
FW has a good relationship with the WBO.
We may even see Yarde fighting for the vacant title against BJSs last opponent!

Its as if that failed test never happened, I genuinely believe Joshua's rise to stardom has played a crucial part in the rise of popularity in Fury, I'm not disregarding the fact of his performance against Wilder earned a lot of praise and the depression saga tugged on the heartstrings but Brits love nothing more than bashing the top dog(for want of a better word) and Joshua is the biggest star, make no mistake if Anthony Joshua didn't exist then I'm in no doubt that Tyson Fury would be ridiculed the way Joshua is right now but since AJs rise Fury's became a cult heroTwinkle Toes wrote: ↑12 Jun 2019, 07:37 The lineal champion of the work doesn't need belts.

I'm not stating my opinion as fact but I personally don't buy into the whole depression angle from Fury, don't get me wrong ive no doubt losing his belts and ballooning up in weight would've made him unhappy but ive got family and friends like him, makes a pudendum of things all on his own making then play the depression card, I may be well out of line but ive got first hand experience of behaviour like his, it may sound harsh and if theres people on here who suffer from depression then I mean no offence but IMO Fury's unhappiness was more or less all alcohol related and probably a nice little smokescreen for PED use

Will they strip Ruiz? I don't think so.
Would anyone be surprised if they do strip him? I doubt it
