Its as if that failed test never happened, I genuinely believe Joshua's rise to stardom has played a crucial part in the rise of popularity in Fury, I'm not disregarding the fact of his performance against Wilder earned a lot of praise and the depression saga tugged on the heartstrings but Brits love nothing more than bashing the top dog(for want of a better word) and Joshua is the biggest star, make no mistake if Anthony Joshua didn't exist then I'm in no doubt that Tyson Fury would be ridiculed the way Joshua is right now but since AJs rise Fury's became a cult hero
I'm not stating my opinion as fact but I personally don't buy into the whole depression angle from Fury, don't get me wrong ive no doubt losing his belts and ballooning up in weight would've made him unhappy but ive got family and friends like him, makes a pudendum of things all on his own making then play the depression card, I may be well out of line but ive got first hand experience of behaviour like his, it may sound harsh and if theres people on here who suffer from depression then I mean no offence but IMO Fury's unhappiness was more or less all alcohol related and probably a nice little smokescreen for PED use
Indeed, you're not alone in thinking they hit a line (excuse the pun) and thought this is working lets run with it.
I don’t think he will be stripped.
A few people have mentioned that he has only been displaying two belts but I saw a video today outside Aztec stadium of him holding WBA, WBO and IBO.
I think it’s as simple as his own belt hadn’t arrived. The WBO belt he has now is the ‘standard’ one without the banner across the bottom that Joshua’s had.

Fury started the rumor and everyone else reported on it. I agree with you that his belt just wasn't ready for him yet and now it is. Even the WBO wouldn't be stupid enough to strip the guy at this point.

I think I remember it being very very soon after Fury won in Germany that the IBF announced it was fight the mando or lose the belt.
On the WBO subject. Usyk is gonna be in that mix. I expect him to be very well avoided by the top dogs.
I believe the ibf mandated the winner fight glazkov before wlad fought fury.

Yeah I think that was right, with the assumption being made at that time that Wlad would win then fight him. A Fury win fcked it all up as it was the only way a rematch with him and Wlad would happen, and the mandatory could not wait. Once the rematch was triggered, he was stripped as he was unable to fulful that obligation
OK, so the IBF stripped Fury much sooner than I thought they did.
But if the mandatory was alresdy set prior to the Wlad fight, then that makes sense. Wlad probably had an agreement in place with Glazkov and would have fought him next had he won.
Without a mandatory in place I can't see how the WBO could possibly strip Ruiz for not fighting one. Not that it matters, Fury will be made mandatory after beating Schwartz, with Ruiz tied up with Joshua and Whyte and Rivas due to fight each other.
That will leave the likes of Zheng, Sprong and Fa to face Fury. We all should have expected nothing less the moment Fury signed with Warren.
Eddie has already announced that all the same belts will be on the line for the rematch. Though there is a long time between now and November/December and anything can happen.

What doesn't make sense though is that Klitschko insisted on a rematch clause for Fury to get a shot then Fury got stripped. The two practices are contradictory and there's no place for both
Wilder is set to fight Ortiz , AJ has the rematch , don't hear Fury demanding or asking for the winner of the AJ-Ruiz , rematch , and a chance at the belts ,, Got a feeling He'll use the everyone is busy excuse , fight a couple more unknowns and disapear with a lot of money back to Lancashire , booze , and steak and kidney pudding and chips .

Yeah I remember at the time thinking that the IBF were being very harsh, even by their standards.
Had Fury had a bigger promoter at the time he may have held on to all his belts. Big Mick is a good character, but relatively small time and it showed in this scenario.

Yep it was a bit of an odd situation from Hennessey all around, Fury was WBO mandatory so he could've easily told the IBF to do one before the Klitschko fight on the assumption that Fury would win and be unable to fight Glazkov for the IBF manadatory, also what was even worse was having Fury sign a rematch clause in the first place, fair enough if Wlad was making a volunatary but Fury earned his shot and there was no need for him to sign a rematch clause at all

The ibf would strip anyone. Their rankings are shit, but they enforce their rules without bias.

I would raise a glass to him if he did that. He def sees the game for what it truly is and is maximising his earnings via the path of least resistance. Boxing fans are so fornicating fickle I have zero probs with a fighter fornicating them off (especially one that travelled to beat the two most dangerous opponents available in his career).

I know, but someone like Top Rank or Matchroom could have offered Glazkov step aside money, the money they were gonna make in the rematch would have made it worthwhile.
Not that it mattered in the end as Fury imploded outside the ring.
